Los AngelesFood and drink—RestaurantsTop tablesLA’s food scene is thriving. The weather helps: aMediterranean climateand close proximity tothe fertile Central Valleymeans that the freshestingredients wind upon your plate. Then, ofcourse, there are thoseheaven-sent grapevines. The city has alsobecome a magnet fornationwide talent inrecent years. And whileMexico has exerted thepunchiest and mostpalpable influence onthe flavours favouredby Angelenos, thecontributions of theKorean, Japanese andChinese communitieshave been hefty too. It alladds up to a heady mix. There’s something foreveryone, from hip hauntson the city’s east sideto laidback venues onthe shores of Venice andSanta Monica in the west, with plenty of Hollywoodglitz and old-schoolglamour in between. While at times you maybe caught off-guard byan early closing, you’llnever suffer a shortageof places to wine and dinein Los Angeles.028sSavouringthe city—that si—The Thaidishes hitnotes ofspiceodngFood anddrinkLos Angeles—Food and drinkFo2Alimento, Silver LakeIntimate ItalianNight 1 Market Song, Silver LakeHot stuffLA native Zach Pollack wasstudying architecture in Florencewhen he decided to switch hisfocus to food.
