C OVER A RTWORKThe cover artwork comprises the author’s photograph of acarving that is located on the outer rock wall of Saint Antonymonastery near the Red Sea, Egypt.Jesus is depicted in his meeting with Veronica. Wordlesslyhe accepts the cloth that she so humbly offers him with amother’s love matching that of Mary.He is exhausted, bloody, humiliated, tortured to within aninch of his life, illegally and unjustly tried and sentenced andwalking to his death. He is carrying the sins of the world onhim: what little thing can all humanity give to him assuccour and comfort in return at this dreadful hour?Jesus knows, however, that not only is he carrying thesins of the world in his cross, he is also bearing all thehallmarks of his perfect and human Father Fusion for everyfollower in every generation for all time. His unyieldingpassion for partnering with the Father, then, is the call to themonastic life for anyone who seeks to possess the sameParadise perfections as Jesus has.T HE B OOK ’ S I NTENTThis book is an extraordinary work of fiction. It is the fruitof contemplating, in the presence of God the Holy Trinity andothers from heaven, what monastery life might be like for acommunity of men and women who were wholly devoted tothe Father Fusion of Jesus according to the biblical traditionof monastic life and yet looking to the Father Fusion of Jesusin the Old Testament, the New Testament and The UrantiaBook. The book’s intent is to inspire the heart of the seeker forsuch a life.It has been conceived in faith and believed to have beenreceived: therefore it shall be done. Amen.3

Chapter OneM ARK 8:34The SFFJ Monastic Rule: Elouise, Julie from WesternAustralia with Antonia Irini of the Clear Light. And he called to him the crowd with his disciples and saidto them, “If anyone would come after me, let him denyhimself and take up his cross and follow me.”She considered herself to be a simple monastic sister but,to Elouise, this woman’s vivacious glow of both physicalhealth and divine love told her that she had tapped into awhole lot more than mere simplicity.“The Rule of life followed by we who live in the monasteryof the Society For The Father Fusion Of Jesus,” saidsister Antonia Irini of the Clear Light, “starts and ends with each ofus knowing and doing whatever it is that God has called usindividually to do for the Father Fusion of the whole world.” Shestood erect, confident, northern Italian, fifty something, crystalclear dark brown eyes, a meter and a half tall with short clippedblack hair that was visible because the hood of her habit waspushed back. Elouise was very attracted to her appearance, especially the patchwork robes. Whilst The Society For The FatherFusion Of Jesus was a whole new thing like many that haveemerged in France in the last sixty years, SFFJ was not a branchout of some ancient Christian religious tradition that bore its ownbranding and costume. Still, this monastic sister’s clothes told theworld that she glorified Christ: there was no mistaking it—andthat’s a very Christian thing to do, to visibly stand up for Jesus.“That’s what unites us all here,” Antonia Irini continued whileElouise listened rather skeptically, avoiding any display of her fearof monks and nuns and the seemingly imprisoned life they led—well, at least that was how it looked to her from the outside. Herhost seemed to overlook this rather obvious wariness in her toneand in the peculiar body language she displayed, pressing her righthand forefinger into the flesh of her thumb as if to part it from thetip of her thumb nail: a gesture that amounted to little more thanbouts of a flick of her thumb and forefinger around every fewseconds.“We each agree with one another that the meaning of life iswholly contained in our individual Father Fusion and bestenvisaged through God’s leading us into its fullness. We equallyagree that the Father Fusion experience of Jesus, the formerincarnated Son of God, is the most pure, the most adaptable to theindividual person, the most pristine in the Paradise Father, and themost available source of Father Fusion to any living soul on theearth.”9

The Father Fusion Of Jesus — Monastic Life.“Anyone? Regardless of their religion?” Elouise asked. “Like me.I’m Buddhist.”“Precisely, Elouise.”“So,” continued Elouise, “if I wanted to join this community Iwould have to know whatever it is that God has called mepersonally to do for the Father Fusion of the whole world?”“Yes.”Elouise fell silent. In fact the silence seemed to be so deep it wasas though she had fallen backwards into some great black hole. Asa gesture to rescue her from brain numbing speechlessness theSister added:“It has been something of a comfort to all of us to know thatoriginally none of us knew what Father Fusion was. Nor how towant it or how to have it.”“I’m just not sure that I even believe in God,” Elouise said. “I justdon’t know what next to say.”“I do though,” said Julie.Antonia Irini of the Clear Light turned her attention to the youngwoman and smiled. Julie and Elouise had both arrived togetherfrom Western Australia yesterday. They indicated on theirapplication form that they wanted to do a seven-day retreat at themonastery.“Are you also Buddhist?” Antonia Irini asked.“Not really, no. Jewish, I suppose. That was my upbringinganyway. Since my mum and dad died though I’ve kind of driftedaround a bit.”“You believe in God. Do you also believe that God raised Jesusfrom the dead?”“I do,” interjected Elouise.“Yes, I suppose I do too,” said Julie.“Well,” said Antonia Irini as she chose her words well, “Elouise, you are Buddhist and Julie you are kind of Jewish . . .” She lookedfor the gentle nods from the two women and got them.Antonia Irini reflected on how the Prior of the monastic familyhad always taught his students to answer questions by goingstraight to the heart of the matter as it lived in the inquirer’s life, thus avoiding mere intellectual speculation and conjecture. “Truthwas worth the effort,” he would say.“To help you understand how this kind of monastery worksaround the Father Fusion of Jesus, let me ask you this,” saidAntonia Irini:“Think of your favourite spiritual hero. Who is that person?”“For me it’s Elijah,” said Julie. “I remember learning all abouthim from my Nan as a kid.”“Elouise?”“Um. I suppose it would be a Tibetan Lama I once listened too.Rinpoche. His words convinced me to be a Buddhist.”“What were you before you heard his words?”“Oh, I was just a Christian. You know, go to church on Sunday10

1. The SFFJ Monastic Rule.and forget about it all week kind of Christian.”“Orthodox? Protestant? Catholic? Pentecostal?”“Yeah, Protestant. I don’t know anything at all about those otherkinds.”“Did you have a favourite Saint you heard about as a kid?”Elouise closed her eyes for a moment. Then she glowed. “Ohyeah. I saw this film. What was it called.” She looked at Julie. “Youknow the one. It had Saint Francis of Assisi in it.”“Brother Sun Sister Moon,” Julie replied with a smile. “Greatfilm.”“Yeah, that one. Saint Francis. I always wanted to be like hisgirlfriend, the little blond girl who cut off all her hair.”“Saint Claire.”“Yes, Saint Claire. I suppose she would be a spiritual hero forme. She was amazing. So much love. So simple. So easy going andyet . . . She was tough. She turned her back on her family andclung onto Francis.”“And a whole new life in Christ?” said Antonia Irini of the ClearLight.“Yes, I suppose you’re right,” replied Elouise after a moment’spause to reflect on that ancient yet vivid memory.“So,” continued Antonia Irini. “Saint Claire of Assisi and Elijahthe Tishbite. Now here’s my next question to you both:“How do they feed you spiritually?”“Feed me?” asked Elouise. “What’s ‘feed me’ mean?”“When a saint like that feeds me, I receive spiritual power.Elijah, for example, inspires me to believe that with God I can doanything. Believing that, I press through into the will of God andwhen God and I partner together in a project we overcome theworld in the same way, I imagine, that Elijah overcame the world.”“And Saint Claire of Assisi?” asked Julie.“Claire empowers me as a woman of God; to be a powerfulwoman of God like her; to be a leader of spirit-filled women; to putChrist Jesus before all others; to fast off the world’s ways of doingthings and to dare to believe that God within me will reveal to mewhat I need to get the project done and how to think about it alland how to stay in the light of God as best I can.”“Wow,” said Elouise. “That’s amazing. As you were describingthat, I felt like you were drawing out those very same things fromsomewhere really deep inside me.”“Do they live there inside you?” Antonia Irini asked Elouise.“I suppose they must do. I feel as if you have shone a light ofthem. I suddenly feel twice the woman I did a few minutes ago.”“And you, Julie? How does Elijah feed you?”“Elijah tells me that regardless of my enemies being camped allaround me, my God will find an escape pathway for me and he willbring me into his shelter.”“Elijah means safety to you?”“Yes.” Their eyes met: this simple monastic sister and this11

The Father Fusion Of Jesus — Monastic Life.orphaned young Jewish woman, and tears welled up in Julie’s eyes.Antonia Irini leaned forward and drew Julie into her arms.“Darling, we all find our shelter in God’s mercy.” The love waspalpable. Julie cried. And cried. At length, Antonia Irini of the Clear Light said, “This is enoughtalking for now. I want you to spend some time today thinkingsome more on this matter of who feeds you spiritually.“What’s the point of doing that?” asked Elouise.“This is how we think in the Society For The Father Fusion OfJesus monastery, Elouise.“We identify which Saint is feeding us.“Then we identify what they are feeding us.“Then we bring this spiritual version of who we are in the life ofthis Saint, to Jesus Christ the Son of God. It is whatever it is thatwe are spiritually uplifted by in the life of this Saint that tells uswho we are spiritually.“I want you to find that out for yourselves. You with Saint Claireof Assisi, Elouise. And you with Saint Elijah, Julie. Find out whatspiritual qualities they feed you; and notice that those spiritualqualities are exactly who you want to be spiritually.“Next, notice how it is those same qualities that forged a fusionbetween their personal will and the will of God in their own life.”“Wow. I never though of that,” said Julie. “That’s really special. You just broke me into the spiritual world that I always dreamed ofentering.” She looked at Elouise. “I just never knew how to getthere . . . inside the spiritual realm of Elijah. And Antonia Irini justopened the door and it pulled me inside.”“Amazing,” said Elouise.Antonia Irini of the Clear Light smiled. She knew how it allworked: this was kid’s stuff to her. That’s why she had the positionof helping all those who came on retreat. She held the keys ofheaven and earth; and she knew how to unlock doors with them asthough they were never locked in the beginning.“Actually, now that I come to think about it,” said Elouise,“when I think of Saint Claire of Assisi, you’re right Antonia Irini.Everything that she is with God is exactly who I want to be withGod. Wow! That’s amazing. It’s like I am a reincarnation of SaintClaire of Assisi.”“It is kind of like that a bit, isn’t it?” replied Antonia Irini. “Butyour personality is so different. Your personal history is completelydifferent. And this is your first life ever: so maybe leave Clairewhere she is in the heaven of heavens and just receive your ownmeasure of spirituality as it is.”“Oh. Ok,” replied Elouise. “Still, it’s amazing how I am so closeto Saint Claire of Assisi.”“That’s the gift of the Holy Spirit: making the spiritual input intoyour deep inner life so perfectly natural that it fits like a hand in aglove.”12

1. The SFFJ Monastic Rule.“What else?” asked Julie, now eager to dig deeper into this kindof spiritual experience.“Well, I want you each to spend some time noticing that withthese spiritual qualities, your Saint served God perfectly andyearned to serve God with these spiritual qualities and virtues andgifts; and that it is these spiritual qualities that defined for yourSaint exactly how to be perfect as God is perfect.”“Oh wow!” said Elouise. “That’s heavy.”Julie was thinking about what Antonia Irini had just said. “No,actually Lou, it’s not heavy at all. Look at it. Look at how SaintClaire served God with all her spiritual virtues.”“Served Christ,” corrected Elouise.“Yeah, Christ: served Christ.”“Uh huh. I see it now,” said Elouise. “All that purity of heart wasgiven to Jesus. All that fasting and prayer was given to Jesus. Allher decisions, after she cut her hair off and followed Saint Francis, were to done in order to serve Jesus. I see that now. Amazing!”When Antonia Irini of the Clear Light had seen that Elouise andJulie had delighted themselves sufficiently in their recognition ofthe way that Saint Claire of Assisi and Saint Elijah the Tishbiteserved God with the resourcefulness springing out of their innerspiritual virtues, she said:“The point I want to bring to your attention is this, ladies: theseSaints feed you spiritual empowerment. You claim thatempowerment. Their spirituality is your spirituality. They serve Godwith their spiritual virtues and that defined their life for them. Sotoo, when you choose to devote your life to employing your spiritualvirtues to serving God, over and above any other purpose for yourlife, then you and that Saint of yours are walking the same path.”“So, I would be best to identify all of Saint Claire’s spiritualaspects in me and use them to live for God? Is that what you’resaying Antonia Irini?” asked Elouise.“I am saying that the spiritual aspects within yourself are thevery things that shape your most true, your most beautiful, yourmost good and your most wise decisions and perspectives in life.Nothing else feeds you as well as they do. They come from God.They came to Claire and they came to Elijah from God in their day.Now is your time to look upon them as God has also brought themto you. Notice that they are the very things that define for you howyou will serve God in your life. These spiritual virtues that you seein your Saint are the very things that God has planted in you tochoose from and to choose to return to him by way of your ownactions. If Elijah brings you safety then you, Julie, will have thespiritual power inside you to bring other people into spiritual andprobably material safety. This could be your way to serve God.”Turning her gaze upon Elouise she added:“And you, Elouise. If Saint Claire brings you spiritual certaintyand freedom as a woman then there’s a very good chance that youcould bring that work to Christ and serve him by working with him13

The Father Fusion Of Jesus — Monastic Life.to bring other women into that exact same spiritual power andfreedom that you feel in Saint Claire.”“Oh my goodness!” said Elouise. “I could do that! I could reallydo that! That’s what it’s all about, isn’t it? All of you here in thismonastery: you all serve Christ with your own spirituality?”“Precisely,” answered Antonia Irini of the Clear Light. “TheParadise Father gives us the desire for Father Fusion and Christthe Son of God gives us the perfecting truth to make it happen. Then, the Holy Spirit brings different situations into our life so thatwe can experience God’s will in our own experiences: well, at leastthat’s the plan but whether or not we can discern enough to doGod’s will in each situation is a matter for our spiritual maturity todetermine.” “Why Christ,” asked Julie. “Why not just God. Why does Jesushave to always be put in the middle of it all?”“Oh that’s an easy question to answer, Julie. Take a momentand close your eyes. Look into the heart of hearts of Saint Elijah:your Saint. Discern what his deepest desire is.”“He wants to be fully God,” Julie replied.“What else?”“There’s more?”“Yes. Look. What does Elijah want to do once he is fully God?”“Oh, wow. How about that. Being fully God, Elijah wants tobring God to all his people. He wants to prove God is real. He wantsto show the people that God is all powerful. He wants to do theworks of God, and only those works. He has no other life in theworld to live except that he does works in God and with God andfor God. Wow . . . That’s so cool.”Her whole timbre had changed. That ancient Saint seemedsomehow to still have all his power for goodness to melt the heart ofanyone who believed in him.“Are you getting this, Elouise,” Antonia Irini asked.“Most definitely. This is so cool. I am so glad we came here.”“So, ladies, we can discern that both Elijah and Claire wanted tobe wholly connected into God. We can see that they each wantedtheir hearts and souls, their wills and their every good desire to befused into the heart and desire of God. One person and one Godwith the ability to act as one will whenever and for however longthey wanted to.“Why Jesus? It’s simple. How many people were like Elijah?Almost none. Not even Elisha, his prime disciple, went to heaven inthe perfection of Elijah. The same goes for Enoch thousands ofyears earlier. Who else was like Enoch? He went to heaven instantlyjust like Elijah. But today there is no pathway for others to do that.“Along came Jesus who said that he is the way to the Father. Hesaid, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ What he means by that isthat, this fusion between your will and the will of the Spirit of theFather who abides within you is fully available to you. Jesus is14

1. The SFFJ Monastic Rule.saying that the Spirit of the Father is in him specifically for thesake of bringing about his Father Fusion. His gospel message isthat if we receive Jesus then we give him, the Son of God, theperfecter of our spirituality, the right and every opportunity to bringinto our life the very same Father Fusion that he had with theSpirit of the Father in his own days on earth as Jesus of Nazareth.”“With Jesus there’s a pathway to the Father Fusion of Elijah,”said Julie.“Precisely.”“I see that too. Saint Claire’s life of Father Fusion is the sumtotal of all that she received from Jesus Christ; and he gave heronly what was in his own Father Fusion.”“Precisely,” Antonia Irini of the Clear Light repeated. “It’s thatpathway that we want. More than that, though: each of us here inthe monastery of the Society For The Father Fusion Of Jesus havefound that pathway.” “That pathway to Father Fusion: where is it? What is it?” askedElouise. “Is it like the eightfold path of the Buddhists? The LamRim teachings of the Tibetans? The Vedas of the Hindus?”“The pathway of Jesus’ Father Fusion is given to us individuallyby the Son of God himself. He gives it in many ways and in manysituations. The pathway is ours in the living relationship that wehave with the Son of God: Jesus, if we call him by his humanname. The pathway spans our journey through his heavenlyMansions: the levels of spiritual and social and geographicconsciousness in the Father ‘s will that we move through until westand in the fullness of our heavenly citizenship.”“You completely lost me,” said Elouise.“Oh, I kinda get it,” said Julie, touching her hand. “It’s a bit likethe steps to enlightenment I suppose.”“We have an excellent book on that topic,” Antonia Irini added.“It will tell you all about the mansions and what to expect in eachone. It’s the spiritual path of Father Fusion spelled out in easy toread terms. You’ll love it.” Then she looked at the two. Time wasgetting on. They needed to be on their way if they were to have timefor reflection before the bell. “We in this monastery are each different,” said Antonia Irini ofthe Clear Light. There is no Rule for living here that binds us alltogether. Our voluntary commitment to the Father Fusion thatJesus had with the Paradise Father is what unifies us.“It unifies us in this way. We could each of us go searching forthe Father Fusion of Enoch or the Father Fusion of Elijah but notfind it. Each in our own way have discovered that we want theFather Fusion of Jesus and we want to have it from the Son of Godhimself.“We know that the Father doesn’t g
