For example, some e-mailsfor the election were directed tomembers' "spam" folders, and theymay not have been aware thatvoting was open. Some membersalso expressed concerns that theydid not have sufficient knowledgeabout the candidates, their positions, and how they intend to improve theBar. One candidate suggestedincluding a ballot for the VSBpresident or voting information inthe same envelope in whichmembers receive their annual duesinvoice. The Bar is attempting to improvethis process to ensure that everymember has the knowledge and theopportunity to vote for theseimportant elected representatives. Itis also seeking ways to give youbetter access to the candidates soyou can get to know the candidatesand their positions on importantissues facing the Bar.Judge Irvine, Judge Hammond, Judge Balfour and Judge McGrathA committee is studying the electionprocess and would like yourinput. Thisyear, owing to the tenth anniversary, the tournament featured foodtrucks that were a big hit with the golfers. Mike Gerrard tucked his ball closest to the pin and MikeBlumberg blasted the long drive. And while there were winners andthose who didn't win, Camp Comfort Zone, the long-time beneficiaryof this event, came away with the biggest prize-a donation of over 1000 from your Bar Association to continue to do the marvelous workfor which they are so well known. The Association thanks all those who sponsored holes, donated prizesfor the raffle and played. We also thank Lynn Garrett who continues tocome out and let the participants know that while they are playing golf, the reward for the entry fees and donations does impact many who arevery close to us.Each year this event is one that a core group of our membership looksforward to.
