Unconditional admission to the college (College application must be updated if studentdid not attend LBWCC the previous semester).2. Official transcripts from all colleges attended must be in the Registrar’s Office by thenursing application deadline. Unlike routine college admission, the Nursing Divisiondoes not allow one semester to receive transcripts. All transcripts must be in the LBWCCRegistrar’s Office prior to the nursing application deadline. Transcripts must be sent bythe institution’s registrar directly to LBWCC’s Registrar or placed in a sealed envelopewith an official seal for hand delivery to the Registrar’s Office. It is the determination ofthe Registrar if courses taken at institutions outside of the Alabama Community CollegeSystem are comparable to required academic courses.3. A completed nursing application must be turned into the Nursing Division during theappropriate submission dates.4.A minimum of 18 ACT composite score, National, is required. No writing component isrequired. ACT results must be attached to the application. There is no expiration date onACT for admission into the Nursing Program.5. A minimum of 2.5 GPA is required on a 4.0 scale based on the nursing required academiccore courses. The core college courses are English Composition I, Intermediate CollegeAlgebra, Anatomy & Physiology I, Anatomy & Physiology II, Microbiology, HumanGrowth & Development, Speech, and Ethics.6. A minimum of 2.5 cumulative GPA is required for high school students without priorcollege work. GED is acceptable.7. Wallace Community CollegeNursing DivisionHIV or HEPATITIS B REPORTING POLICYPublic law #102-141, Section 633, and “The Alabama Infected Health Care Worker Management Act”require HIV or Hepatitis B infected healthcare workers to notify the State Health Officer within 30 days ofthe time the diagnosis is confirmed. Physicians caring for HIV or Hepatitis B infected healthcare workersare mandated to notify state health officials within 7 days of the diagnosis. All students are required tocomply with this law.For Applicants Information:The Alabama Board of Nursing will require applicants to answer the following questions when applyingto take the licensure examination at the conclusion of a nursing program of study.
