OUR STORYRDI’s story began with some shop talk between two brothers on theback of a napkin. Home builders Chris and Andy Terrels recognizeda need for higher quality building materials for their custom homes,so they set out to find materials that were tough enough to contendwith hard Jersey Shore weathering. They started out making PVCrailing in the back of a bread truck, and over time, grew to becomeRailing Dynamics Inc., the number one vinyl railing manufacturer inthe United States.RDI’s success in the industry, despite being a small company,caught the eye of Barrette Outdoor Living, an outdoor living industrygiant. A company led by one family for three generations since 1963,Barrette had already gained a reputation for their sawmilling andextensive array of outdoor living products, as well as their philosophyof Hardworking Ingenuity , but they were searching for onething: an industry leader in railing manufacturing to service 2-stepdistributors and lumber dealers nationwide — and that’s where RDIcame in. On December 31, 2012, RDI was acquired by Barrette andtoday, RDI is proud to be a part of the Barrette family.
