But this is just the start of thesystem’s advanced environmentally friendly design. Sincethere is no electrophotography, there is virtually no ozone,which is known to cause nausea and headaches in operatorsover long periods of time. Our method of applying the toneralso means there is no “toner jump” – and thus more accurateapplication of the toner to the paper.Minimizing environmental impactThe Océ VarioPrint 6160/6200/6250 uses monocomponenttoner, and no selenium, no developer and no fuser oil. Andwith a fusing temperature of just over 100 C (comparedwith 180-200 C on machines based on electrophotographictechnology), it gives you the additional benefit of being ableto handle a wider variety of substrates too. Another aspect ofthe system you will notice straight away is its low operatingnoise level, which can make a real difference in busycommercial environments.And because they use only one print engine instead of two toproduce the same amount of output as comparable systems,the Océ VarioPrint 6000 series use far less energy.11
