These servicessupport TAC RMP members’ risk managementefforts and are a benefit of membership atno additional cost.small workshops are an excellent way to target alarge number of employees or to train managementon regulatory compliance matters or specific countyneeds. Curriculum may be focused to a specific line ofcoverage or a combination of workers’ compensation,human resources, law enforcement or risk control(safety). On-site law enforcement courses may beeligible for TCOLE credit.Training ProgramsCounties must invest in employee trainingand development to stay on top of regulatorychanges, keep up with new workplace technology, ensure employees’ safety and reducecounty losses.ON-SITE WORKSHOPSMembers may host half-day on-site workshops at theirfacilities upon request. The Pool’s driving simulatorprogram offers two separate training opportunitiesthrough a Law Enforcement Driving Simulator and aTruck Driving Simulator. This training is intended tosupplement classroom driver safety instruction.TAC RMP members participating in the AutomobileLiability and Workers’ Compensation programs haveaccess to this training for law enforcement, road andbridge, emergency management and volunteer firedepartment personnel.RESISTANCE RESPONSE SIMULATOR (RRS)TAC RMP recognizes that county law enforcementofficers face tremendous challenges when protectingcitizens, property and themselves. The simulator uses a laser toreplicate extinguisher discharge and does not leave aresidue as with a dry chemical or CO2 extinguisher.Participants can simulate class A, B and C fires.
