REGISTER TODAY!About the Class SectionNumbering SystemCourses with Sections numbered 01–49: These sections meetduring the day on the Chula Vista campus.Courses with Sections numbered 50–59: These sections meet ona Saturday or Sunday and may also include a meeting day during theweek.Courses with Sections numbered 60–69: These sections meet in theevening hours, 4:30 p.m. or later.Courses with Sections numbered 70–79: These sections meet at theHigher Education Center at National City.Courses with Sections numbered 80–89: These sections meet at theHigher Education Center at San Ysidro.Courses with Sections numbered 290–293: These are WorkExperience Sections.Courses with Sections numbered 300–399: These sections meet atthe Higher Education Center at Otay Mesa.Courses with Sections numbered 501–599: These are sections thatmeet Online.Courses with Sections numbered 601–699: These are Hybridsections that have Face-to-Face meetings in a classroom at oneof our campus locations and additionally they have required Onlinemeetings.Courses with Sections numbered with letters E1–E99: Thesesections are scheduled to meet at an Extension site. See the listing ofextension locations in the schedule.Courses with Sections numbered with letters OTHER THAN theletter “E” are coded for special programs, such as:CB College BoundRJ Restorative JusticeSW Southwestest Regional Apprenticeship Program(SWRAP)Class ScheduleTerms to RememberPREREQUISITE: a prerequisite is a course or qualification that mustbe satisfactorily completed before you may register for anothercourse. A minimum grade of “C” or “Pass” must be earned in theprerequisite course.COREQUISITE: a corequisite is a course which must be taken duringthe same semester as the indicated course. Students who do nottake the corequisites can be dropped form the courses requiring thecorequisite.RECOMMENDED PREPARATION: Recommended preparation isprevious training or coursework that helps the student successfullycomplete a subsequent course. Completion of the recommendedpreparation course with a grade of “C” or better increases studentsuccess.RECOMMENDED CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT: Recommendedconcurrent enrollment is a course that a student should complete—but is not required to complete—while enrolled for another course.Enrollment in such a course improves student success.LIMITATION ON ENROLLMENT: Performance courses may requirestudents to try out for intercollegiate athletic teams or to auditionfor courses involving public performances (for example chorus,competitive speech, and theatre) prior to enrollment.Enrollment in blocks of courses or sections may be a requirementso that a group of students will enroll together in that set of classes.Typically students are part of a special program such as PUENTE,First Year Experience, Umoja, etc.Enrollment may be limited due to legal requirements (imposed bystatute, regulation, and/or contract).
