From Fall2006, a cohort of all certificate, degree and transfer-seeking first-time, full-time students were tracked over a three-year period. Thecompletion and transfer rates are listed below. These rated do not represent the success rates of the entire student population, nordo they account for student outcomes occurring after this three-year tracking period.Based upon the cohort defined above, 42% attained a certificate or degree or became “transfer-prepared” during a three-year period,from Fall 2006 to Spring 2009. Students who were “transfer-prepared” have completed 56 transferable units with a GPA of 2.0 orbetter. Based on the cohort defined above, 31.6% transferred to another postsecondary institution prior to attaining a degree orcertificate, or becoming “transfer-prepared” during a five semester period, from Spring 2003 to Spring 2005.2Spring 2011

REGISTRATION INFORMATIONSPRING 2011Student DefinitionsContinuing StudentsStudents who were enrolled in Woodland Community College or Yuba College in the Fall 2010 semester(Aug-Dec 2010).New StudentsA new student is any student who has never registered with the Yuba Community College District(Woodland Community College or Yuba College) ORIf you were a Concurrent Enrollment student and graduated from high school, you are nowconsidered a “new” student and will need to reapply for admission.Returning StudentsStudents who attended either Woodland Community College or Yuba College prior to Spring 2008 areconsidered returning students. All students must reapply.Transfer StudentsIf you are a student who attended a college or university other than a Yuba Community College Districtschool you must apply for admission.Concurrent Enrollment StudentStudents who have completed the EIGHTH grade may attend as a PART-TIME student. Students whocomplete their courses will earn full college credit. REGISTRATION INFORMATIONSPRING 2011Dropping ClassesStudents can drop their classes through WebAdvisor or at Admissions and Records according to thepublished deadline dates in the course schedule or online. Please be aware of all deadlines and talk to acounselor if you are unsure about dropping your course. If you receive Financial Aid, make sure youdiscuss this with Financial Aid before dropping as it will affect your Financial Aid status. Dropping is thestudent’s RESPONSIBILITY. Never assume that you will be dropped by an instructor.WaitlistsIf you place yourself on a waitlist, be sure to continuously check the waitlist through WEBADVISOR tosee if you have been added. Automatic waitlist adds happen up until classes start. Once classes startyou must attend the first class meeting to see if you have been added to the course. It is important toattend the first class meeting. If you are added to the course you will need to bring the add form to theAdmissions and Records Office to be added by the published deadline date to be considered enrolled inthe course.Pass/No-Pass GradingSome courses allow students to choose a letter grade or a Pass/No Pass (P/NP) grade for the course.The choice must be made by the student via WebAdvisor registration or by completing a Pass/No Passform with the Admissions and Records office. Please be aware of deadlines. There may also be degree,certificate, and transfer requirements to be aware of before selecting this option. Discuss this with yourcounselor prior to making this selection.Residency StatusCalifornia residents are those who have maintained legal resident status in California for a year and aday PRIOR to the first day of the semester. Non-resident students DO NOT automatically becomeCalifornia residents merely by living in the state. State law requires PROOF OF RESIDENCY. Proofincludes such things as filing California State Income Tax, obtaining a California driver’s license,registering vehicles in the state as a resident. The law also requires that the student show no contraryintent, that is, he/she must not have maintained resident status in his/her former state (i.e., driver’slicense, taxes, car registration, etc). The burden of proof rests with the student. Residency isdetermined by the laws of the State of California.Non-residents will be required to pay tuition. Non-residents who attended a California high school forthree years AND graduated from a California high school may be eligible for a tuition exemption. Nonresident active duty military who are stationed in California, and their dependents, are allowed to paythe resident rate for enrollment fees. Contact the Admissions and Records Office for more information.6AB 540 Residency StatusIf you attended a California high school for three years and graduated from a California high school, youmay apply for the California Non-Resident Tuition Exemption Status. A copy of your high schooltranscript must be provided when submitting the California Nonresident Tuition Exemption Formlocated at Admissions and Records or from our website at http://wcc.yccd.edu - Admissions- Forms. Ifyou qualify, you will NOT be required to pay the non-resident tuition fee, however, you will NOT beeligible to receive the BOGW enrollment fee waiver.Spring 2011
