COVID-19 Weekly ReportOregon’s Weekly Surveillance SummaryNovel Coronavirus (COVID-19)Care Facility, Senior Living Communities and Congregate LivingSettings ReportOHA is publishing data on cases and deaths in care facilities, senior living communities, andcongregate living settings that have three or more confirmed COVID-19 cases or one or moredeaths (Table 1). Facilities with outbreaks that are considered resolved are moved to the closedoutbreak list (Table 2). An outbreak is considered resolved if no new cases are identified for 28days after the last case onset. This list does not include correctional facilities.In addition to the facilities listed, OHA is aware of 221 congregate settings of five or fewer bedsthat have three or more confirmed COVID-19 cases or one or more deaths. Because fosterhomes typically have relatively few residents, OHA follows the Oregon Department of HumanServices practice in not naming these locations to protect patient privacy.To date, there has been one death of a staff person who worked in a congregate care settingfrom COVID-19. To protect patient privacy, OHA does not report employee deaths by workplaceor other potentially identifying information. Similar information will be released in the future inweekly reports only if OHA determines that such information, in addition to other informationit releases, and information released by other agencies, like the Centers for Medicaid andMedicare Services, cannot be used to identify an individual. To date, there have been 13,362cases and 1,210 deaths associated with congregate care settings.Table 1.
