It looked likethey couldn't care less aboutputting in a leader that wouldbe good for the entire country. This hatred for one man thathappens to be our president is asickness that has given thecountry a health problem itmay never recover from. This hatred has put partyfirst and our country last andimplanted some incredibleroadblocks to legislation thatcould have moved the countrytoward recovery. Now we havethis chameleon called Romneywho is pointing to some of thefailures of President Obamaknowing full well the roleplayed by his own party.Candidate Romney admitshe has no recovery plan, butwill form one with Congresswhen he gets elected. He cantell you what's wrong with thePresident's plan, but he can'ttell you his plan. Bear in minda recovery plan is totally different from taking a stand on various issues. We have now come down toan election that is under a newset of rules, allowing unlimitedmonies to flow forth under thelabel of Political ActionsCommittees, also known asPACs. These committees formto gather money to support acandidate or a cause. In view ofthis no limit rule the amount ofmonies spent for this election isastronomical compared to previous years. The result of all this is thatthe one with the most moneyhas a better opportunity to control the mindset of the nation. The scary part of all this is thevast amount of money that hasbeen put into the hands of oneKarl Rove to once again control the lies and innuendos of amassive propaganda campaignbetween now and election day.You might remember KarlRove, who in essence was incharge of dirty tricks when hewas part of the George Bushdebadle. God help us if thisman once again becomes partof the ruling regime of thiscountry.Bernard MaherSanibelSetting therecord straightTo the editor:I would like to take thisopportunity to set the recordstraight on a recent Letter toSee LETTERS, page 19Web PollAgree?Disagree?Your views on the editorials, letters and theguest opinions that appear on The Reporteropinion pages can be shared on-line.
