They will advise You what to do next andissue all appropriate documentation immediately.2.Where Comprehensive Cover applies Our Approved Repairer Networkcan be availed of. In the event of the vehicle being unfit to drive theywill tow Your vehicle. This will safeguard the vehicle from any furtherdamage from vandals or against theft of parts. Thank You for arrangingYour car insurance cover with Us.This Policy should be kept carefully in a safe place.Please note that the Schedule and Certificate of Insurance form partof this Policy and should be read in conjunction with this booklet toensure that they are in accordance with Your requirements.Duty of DisclosureYour attention is drawn particularly toCondition 6 of the Policy. Your coverand the premium calculated are basedon the information provided by You.You must tell Us immediately of anychange in Your risk which materiallyaffects this insurance. Failure to discloseall material information could invalidateYour insurance or result in the rejectionof a claim (i.e. Your Policy may becancelled and any claim(s) may not bepaid) leaving You without protection.Cooling-Off PeriodYou have 14 days from the start dateof the policy to write to Us at theaddress shown at the bottom of Yourcover confirmation letter if You want tocancel Your Car Cover Policy. This isknown as a cooling-off period.If You cancel Your Car Cover Policyduring this period of time, providedYou have not made a claim, We willrefund Your premium. However, You2 Car Insurance Policywill be charged with a pro-ratapremium for the period on risk, duringthe cooling-off period.Contract LawThe parties to a contract of insurancecovering a risk situated in the Republicof Ireland are permitted to choose thelaw applicable to the contract. Wepropose that the contract will begoverned by Irish Law.All monies which become or maybecome due under this Policy will inaccordance with section 93 of theInsurance Act 1936 be payable andpaid in the Republic of Ireland in Eurosunless We specifically say otherwise.Premiums are subject to GovernmentLevy and or contribution whereapplicable. Understanding Your PolicyThis Policy, the Schedule and theCertificate of Insurance areconfirmation of the details of Yourinsurance contract with Us and mustbe read together. Definitions of termscommonly used in this Policy havebeen included to assist You.Any other word or expression to whicha particular meaning is given will havethe same meaning wherever itappears.The Sections in Your Policy tell Youwhat is covered. There are alsoExceptions which will tell You of anyrestrictions to cover and Conditionswhich will tell You about Your or Ourresponsibilities or duties under thecontract.DefinitionsBodily InjuryInjury resulting directly from anaccident caused by violent and visiblemeans.Certificate of InsuranceThe Certificate of Insurance issued byUs being evidence of Your motorinsurance contract with Us. It describesthe vehicle covered under Your Policy,drivers who may drive Your vehicleand the purposes for which the vehiclemay be used. It also shows the Periodof Insurance.ExcessThis is the first amount of any claimwhich You have to pay.This amount is shown on theSchedule.Indemnity/IndemnifyThe purpose of this Policy is to protectYou from the financial impact of anincident involving Your vehicle. Thismay be damage to Your own vehicle,or You may be legally liable fordamage to another person’s propertyor in some circumstances injury toanother person.Insured VehicleYour vehicle the registration number ofwhich is shown on the Certificate ofInsurance.Material InformationAny information or detail relating toYou or Your insurance which wouldaffect the premium or the cover underthis Policy (i.e. information which mayinfluence Us in Our acceptance orassessment of this motor insurance).Period of InsuranceThe period for which We haveaccepted Your premium and issued aCertificate of Insurance.Insured Personsa) You, the insuredb) Any person specified as a personwhose liability is covered in theCertificate of InsuranceCar Insurance Policy 5

c) Any passenger in, getting into orgetting out of the Insured Vehicled) The personal representatives of anyof the abovee) The employer or partner of anyperson whose business use iscovered by the terms of theInsurance whose name is noted onthe Certificate of Insurance but onlyin respect of the negligence of thatperson solely in respect of liabilityincurred under the Policy.Personal EffectsProperty normally worn, carried orused about the person ineveryday use.ProposalAny information and otheraccompanying details orinformation provided by You or onYour behalf which may affect the6 Car Insurance PolicyTerms, Conditions or Premiumspayable in respect of this Policy.ScheduleThis document shows the Sections ofthe Policy which apply and sodescribes the cover provided.Territorial LimitsUnless otherwise stated the coverprovided by this Policy is in respect ofincidents occurring in the Republic ofIreland, Northern Ireland, GreatBritain, the Isle of Man or the ChannelIslands (or in the course of transit bysea or tunnel between any portstherein).We/Us/Our/The InsurerAIG Europe LimitedYou/YourThe person named as the Insured onthe Certificate of Insurance.

Section 1 – Loss or damage toYour vehicleWe will insure You against loss ordamage (including damage by frost)to any vehicle referred to in the‘Description of vehicles’ or thestandard accessories and spare partsprovided by the manufacturer. A limitof 650 applies to accessories andspare parts.We may at Our option repair, reinstateor replace the vehicle or any part of itor We may pay You to cover theamount of the loss or damage.Replacement parts may be sourcedfrom a supplier other than the vehiclemanufacturer’s dealer or agent. Themost We will pay for any claim for lossor damage is the market value of thevehicle immediately before the loss ordamage occurred. This however willnot be more than the estimate of valueYou have given to Us. If We know thatthe vehicle is covered by a hirepurchase agreement, We will pay theowner and have no further liability forthe loss or damage.If any part of the vehicle shown to inthe ‘Description of vehicles’ is nolonger made or cannot be provided bythe manufacturers, We will pay thecost of such part or accessory set outin the manufacturers last publishedprice list together with the currentlabour charge for fitting it.If the vehicle cannot be drivenbecause of the loss or damage, Wewill pay the reasonable cost ofprotecting it and removing it to thenearest AIG Repairer Network garage.We will also pay the reasonable costof delivering the vehicle back to Youafter repairing any loss or damageinsured under the Policy. We will notpay more than the reasonable cost oftransport to Your address in Ireland.You may authorise repairs for thevehicle caused by damage covered bythis Policy as long as the estimatedcost of the repairs is below 400 andYou have given Us a detailed estimateof the cost before carrying out therepairs.Exceptions to Section 1We will not pay claims for thefollowing:1 Loss of use, loss in value(depreciation), wear and tear,mechanical, computer or electricalbreakdown, failures or breakages.2 Damage to tyres caused by usingthe brakes or by road punctures,cuts or bursts.3 Loss or damage arising during anearthquake, riot or civilcommotion (unless You can provethe damage was not caused bythese events).Car Insurance Policy 7

4 Loss or damage caused bypressure waves caused byaircraft and other flying objectstravelling at above the speedof sound.5 Loss or damage arising from orcontributed to by the driver’sbreath, blood, or urine alcohollevel being above the legal limitas stated in the Road Traffic Actsor the driver being under theinfluence of drugs (unless suchdrug has been prescribed by aRegistered Medical Practitionerbut not for the treatment of drugaddiction) whilst in charge ofthe vehicle.6 Loss or damage due to theft orattempted theft if the keys orlocking device of the vehicleare left in, on or near thevehicle while the vehicle isunattended.7 Loss or damage to radiotelephones, their componentparts or ancillary equipmentunless permanently fitted orremoved from its permanenthousing and concealed forsecurity purposes at the timeof the incident.8 Any loss or damage in respectof Satellite Navigation equipmentor games consoles andequipment unless permanently8 Car Insurance Policyfitted to the insured Vehicle orremoved from their permanenthousing and concealed forsecurity purposes at the time ofthe incident.9 Loss or damage arisingfrom the continued use of theinsured vehicle in a damagedcondition following an insuredincident.10 Vehicles which have beenmodified or altered and whichare non-standard to originalmanufacturers specification ofthe vehicle.

Section 2 – Liability To Third PartiesWe will cover You against allamounts You or Your personalrepresentative legally have to pay toany person (apart from the peopledefined in the Policy) as damages orcosts due to injuring any person orproperty with any vehicle referred toin the ‘Description of vehicles’. Wewill pay all costs and expenses Youpay or agree to pay with Our writtenpermission.We will pay the solicitor’s fee forrepresenting You at any coroner’sinquest for any death which We mayprovide cover for under this sectionor for defending any courtproceedings for any act causing anyevent which We may cover under thissection.People We will not coverWe will not cover:a any person claiming for damageto property which happens whilethe property was in or on anyvehicle referred to in the‘Description of vehicles’;b any person claiming for damageto property which happens whileYou owned the property or had itin Your possession or control; orc any person (other than You) onwhose behalf You claim apayment if that person is entitledto cover under any other Policy.ManslaughterIf You ask, We will also pay Yourlegal defence costs, up to 1,500,for manslaughter proceedings ordangerous driving charges undersubsection (2)(a) of Section 53 of theRoad Traffic Act 1961 if theproceedings relate to any eventwhich We may cover under thissection. We will have no furtherliability to You for this if we pay Youthese defence costs (less Ourexpenses up to the date of thepayment).ExceptionsThe cover granted for manslaughterclaims will not apply to any suchclaim where the driver has beenconvicted or is being prosecuted forany Road Traffic Act laws relating toalcohol or drugs.If You drive other vehiclesIn terms of the limits of coverprovided by this section inconnection with any vehicle referredto in the‘Description of vehicles’, Wewill cover You for any event whiledriving a motor car You do not ownor have hired under a hire-purchaseagreement.Driving an insured vehicleIn terms of the limits of cover providedby this Policy, We will cover any driverreferred to in the ’Description ofdrivers’ who is driving any vehiclereferred to in the ‘Description ofvehicles’ as long as they:aare not entitled to cover underany other Policy;Car Insurance Policy 9

bcare not in the motor trade anddriving the vehicle to overhaul orrepair it for You; orkeep to the exceptions andconditions of this Policy as far aspossible.Fire-brigade chargesWe may pay the charges a fireauthority make under the FireServices Act 1981 for putting out afire in Your vehicle if the fire givesrise to a valid claim under the Policy,or for removing the driver orpassengers from the vehicle usingcutting equipment. The most We willpay for any one claim is 1,500.10 Car Insurance Policy

Section 3 – If You are InjuredIf You are injured while getting into orout of (or travelling in) any privatemotor car You do not own, We willpay You or Your personalrepresentative the compensationshown below. The injury must becaused by a violent accident whichcan be seen, and within threecalendar months of the accident,result in the following:Benefit DescriptionBenefit Amount1. Death 1,5002. Total and permanent loss of sightof both eyes 7503. Total loss at or above the wrist orankle of both hands or both feet orof one hand together with one foot 7504. Total loss at or above the wrist orankle of one hand or one foottogether with the total andpermanent loss of sight of one eye 3755. Total and permanent loss of sightof one eye 3756. Total loss at or above the wrist orankle of one hand or one foot 375However, the following will apply:a We will not be liable under thissection for bodily injury as a resultof suicide or attempted suicide.b We will pay under only Section 1to 6 for any one event. We will notpay more than 1,500 during anyone period of insurance. If Youhave any Policy or policies with Usfor any other motor vehicle orcmotor vehicles, You can only claimcompensation under one Policy.The condition under the heading‘Description of drivers’ whichapplies to any vehicle referred toin the ‘Description of vehicles’ willapply in a similar way with anyprivate motor car You do not ownand have not hired under a hirepurchase agreement.Car Insurance Policy 11

Section 4 – Medical ExpensesIf You or Your driver or any person inany vehicle referred to in the‘Description of vehicles’ is injured by aviolent accident which can be seen,We will pay You the medical expensesin connection with the injury up to 650 (restricted to a maximum of 65per day for up to 10 days) for eachperson injured.Section 5 – Use in Great Britain andNorthern IrelandWe will extend the insurance providedby this Policy to apply to any vehicledefined in the ‘Description of vehicles’while in Great Britain, NorthernIreland, the Isle of Man or theChannel Islands. Nothing in this Policyor in any endorsement will affect theright of any person insured by thisPolicy or of any other person to claimback an amount due under the law ofany territory in which this Policy appliesrelating to Us insuring Your liability toothers.However, You must repay Us allamounts We pay which We would not12 Car Insurance Policyhave had to pay because of the lawmentioned above.We will insure any person using avehicle if they are liable under theRoad Traffic Acts or laws to pay foremergency treatment of injuriescaused by or arising out of using thevehicle in any territory where any ofthe acts or laws apply.If You make a payment for emergencytreatment under this clause, it is not aclaim under this Policy for thepurposes of the no-claims discountsection.

Section 6 – Use abroadThis Policy will provide the minimuminsurance You need by law for usingany vehicle insured in any countrywhich is a member of the EuropeanEconomic Community and any othercountry for which the Commission ofthe European Economic Community issatisfied that arrangements have beenmade to meet the requirements ofArticle 7(2) of the EEC Directive oninsuring civil liabilities arising fromusing motor vehicles (Number
