Trraveel Assisttance PlaanAs a member, you receive the following benefits through the Travel Assistance Program when traveling more than one hundred (100)miles from your permanent place of Residence, and the trip duration is ninety (90) consecutive days or less if an accidental injury orsickness commences during the course of the covered trip.The following is a summary description only of the program’s services. If you have any questions, please call the customer service numberprovided with your benefit information.Emergency Evacuation.Medically Necessary Repatriation.If an insured incurs an accidental injury or sickness andadequate medical facilities are not available locally inthe opinion of the assistance company physician, theassistance company will arrange an emergency medicalevacuation (under medical supervision if necessary) bywhatever means necessary to the nearest facility capableof providing adequate care. Covered expenses includetransportation and related medical services (includingcost of medical escort) and medical supplies necessarilyincurred in connection with the emergency evacuation.All transportation arrangements made for the emergencyevacuation must be made by the most direct andeconomical route possible.After initial treatment and stabilization for an accidentalinjury or sickness suffered by the insured, if the attendingphysician deems it medically necessary, and theassistance company physician agrees, the assistancecompany will arrange transport for the insured backto his or her permanent place of residence for furthermedical treatment or to recover.
