Bring a Bibleand your own morning beverage, and consider stayingfor our 12:10pm Mass afterward.RITES OF SENDING AND ELECTIONNext Sunday, February 19, we will celebrate the Rite ofSending at the 11:30am Mass for 21 women and menwho have been preparing to become Catholic throughthe Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. During thisbrief ceremony, the parish community will affirm theseindividuals and send them to Cardinal Wuerl for aspecial liturgy at the Basilica of the National Shrine ofthe Immaculate Conception on the First Sunday of Lent.During this Rite of Election and Call to ContinuingConversion, Cardinal Wuerl will welcome these womenand men and encourage them on their faith journeys. Atthe Easter Vigil, eight of these individuals will becomeChristians through Baptism in the Catholic Church, ninewill formally join the Catholic Church from otherChristian denominations, and four will complete theirCatholic initiation.
