Dear FriendA N D PA RT N E ROne of the very bestthings about being afollower of Jesus duringthe uncertain times we’ve allbeen facing is that He declaresour victory is already won. Inshort, we are instructed to “fearnot” regardless of life’s circumstances — and that includestimes of social or politicalupheaval, financial challenges, and even global pandemicsand personal health concerns.During a trip we took to Istanbul,Turkey a while back with TomNewman, TBN's programmingdirector, Tom met up with RezaSafa, the head of our Iranian Farsi-language network, TBN NejatTV, to walk down to Istanbul’smarket. It happened to be a particularly volatile time in Turkeyright before an election.“ There are times inlife when God callsus to step out infaith despite thefears or uncertaintywe may be facing.”As Tom and Reza were walking, people from every directionsuddenly started running upto them, instantly recognizingReza from TBN Nejat. Withstern-looking officials gazing on,people in both Farsi and Turk2ish began passionately sharingtheir testimonies and askingfor prayer — which Reza gladly did, laying hands on themright there on the crowded citystreet, praying in Jesus’ Name! That unforgettable momenthumbly reminded us all of theimmeasurable impact TBN isMatt and Laurie Crouchhaving throughout the world, now encircling it with nearly 70satellite channels and 31 television networks in multiple languages — including across theMiddle East.Of course, Tom and Reza wouldadmit that having such a conspicuously large group enthusiastically praying to Jesus on thestreets of Muslim Istanbul was alittle unnerving. But their decision to respond by praying andministering to the crowd pointsup something important: Thereare times in life when God callsus to step out in faith despitethe fears or uncertainty we maybe facing. In this edition of our Behindthe Scenes at TBN quarterlyreport, that theme is front andcenter as we feature a sit-downinterview Laurie and I had notlong ago with our good friendJoyce Meyer (page 3). Joycehas a new book out entitled Do2020 3RD QUARTER REPORTTake the hope and grace of Jesus around the world with your gift today! It Afraid: Embracing Couragein the Face of Fear, and in ourconversation she pointed outthat faith does not mean theabsence of fear, but is often ourchoice to move ahead in theface of fear, knowing that Godhas us covered in every circumstance. That’s just one of the greatarticles you’ll experience in thisTBN report. You’ll also learnmore about Yippee (page 5),our exclusive on-demand viewing platform for kids. Launchedjust a year ago, Yippee is rapidly gaining traction amongparents who want programmingfor their children that not onlyentertains and educates, butinstills moral and biblical valuesthat are important for kids.Plus, we have an importantupdate on TBN Africa (page6), which is reaching over fiftynations on the sub-Saharancontinent with culturally relevant, life-changing Christiantelevision. We trust you’ll enjoy this specialTBN partner report as much aswe’ve enjoyed putting it together for you. And thank youagain for joining hands with usin these pivotal days as “thefields are white unto harvest”and cutting-edge technologiesare enabling us to reach moreindividuals than ever with thehope and grace of Jesus. We love and appreciate you,PERFECT LOVECASTS OUT FEARJoyce Meyer talks about her new book, Do It Afraidthat empowers us to moveahead in the face of fear isGod’s love, and His promise thatHe will always take care of us.“When God told Joshua, ‘Do notbe afraid,’ (Joshua 1:9), he wasn’ttelling him not to feel fear,”explained Joyce. “He was reallytelling him, ‘You’re going to feelfear. But when you do, don’t run, because I am with you.’”Check out this powerful clip from Matt and Laurie’s interview with Joyce Meyer, and view the entire program at tbn.org/praise-doitafraid.As every corner of theearth has been impactedby the COVID pandemicand other turmoils, no emotionhas been more front and center in the daily lives of peoplethan fear. And never has it beenmore important for people toembrace the liberating truththat fear has been defeatedthrough Christ’s death and resurrection, and His perfect lovecasts out fear (1 John 4:18).That’s why Do It Afraid: Embracing Courage in the Face ofFear, the new book from TBNfriend and programmer JoyceMeyer, is such a timely arrival for us all (see page 8). In it,Joyce assures us that as Christians we need not be afraid, and shows us how we caneffectively stand when feartries to come against us.In a sit-down interview withMatt and Laurie Crouch, Joyceemphasized that when Godtells us in His Word, “Fear Not”(Isaiah 41:10), He is not saying“ fear has beendefeated throughChrist’s death andresurrection, andHis perfect lovecasts out fear.”that we should never feel theemotion of fear. True, faithfilled courage, she explained,“is not the absence of fear.”Instead, “it is moving forward inthe presence of fear.”But how do we do that? Joycepointed out that the only thingIn fact, faith in God is key forevery circumstance we face.“We don’t have to be afraidbecause God will tell us what todo!” Joyce proclaimed. “Whenfear knocks on your door, sendfaith to answer.” She addedthat throughout life, each of uswill face a variety of fears anduncertainty. “It takes faith for usto step out into the unknown, where only God can guide us,”she said. The finished work of the LordJesus Christ on the behalf ofthose who love Him gives usthe authority to stand in a placeof victory in every circumstancewe face. That means there is noplace for fear. As the apostleJohn reminds us, fear is synonymous with torment, which is theopposite of God’s love for us.There is no fear in the love Hehas for us. Praise God, it castsout fear!2020 3RD QUARTER REPORTTBN 24 Hour Prayer Line: 714-731-1000 or go to www.TBN.org/Prayer3

And TBNAfrica is covering the entireregion with culturally relevanttelevision programming that isbringing millions to Christ, andequipping them to walk outtheir faith with confidence.TBN began its relationship withAfrica back in 1986, when PaulCrouch Sr. first brought Christian television to what is nowSouth Africa. Today viewers inover fifty sub-Saharan Africannations are being touched andchanged by a combination ofthe best of TBN’s global ministry programming, along withexciting content producedexclusively for TBN Africa from6the network’s studios in Johannesburg, as well as on locationacross the continent. Whydid God create you, what is yourpurpose, and how can you fulfillthat purpose?Created to Glorify GodA long time ago some historicalchurch fathers posed those veryquestions, and they found fromScripture that our main purposeis to “glorify God, and to enjoyhim forever.”In the book of Revelation weget a glimpse of this in wordand action when the twenty-four elders fall down beforeGod’s throne and cry out inworship: “You are worthy, OLord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You createdall things, and by Your will theyexist and were created” (Revelation 4:9-11, NKJV).Another translation of that passage says that God created us“for His pleasure.” When I thinkabout this scene in heaven, withGod’s creation bowing downbefore Him and declaring Hisglory, it gives me a whole newperspective about myrelationship with the Creatorof the universe.Far too often the focus of ourrelationship with God is ourHis GoodPleasurePastor D Robinson, TBN Network Director of Pastoral Careneeds and what He can do forus. But what if, in the midst ofour personal concern, we were tointentionally shift our gaze fromourselves to the One who is worthy of our worship and praise?Come boldly to God’s throne, where you will find abundantmercy and grace for every needyou have (Hebrews 4:16).If we were to do that, thechange in our attitudes and inthe atmosphere of our surroundings would be profound. Isaiah26:3 tells us that if we keep ourmind — our heart, our focus, ourattention — fixed upon Jesus,He will keep us in perfect peace, because we trust in Him.Just like David does in Psalm103, turn your requests intodeclarative worship and say: Ibless You, Oh, Lord, and I willnot forget t
