TR-60C (100-61-3)Rev. Ø; / 05-28-99Page 3 of 281.0DISCUSSIONThese tables list the chemical compatibility chart of various metallic materials as used in Bal Sealproducts at ambient temperatures, 70 F (23 C). This data has been compiled from literature publishedby various material suppliers. It is given as background information only. In any given case, factorssuch as concentration, temperature, degree of agitation and presence of impurities influence the rate ofcorrosion. The user, through his own testing and evaluation, must determine the suitability of thematerial for the application.2.0GUIDE TO COMPATIBILITY KEYA AcceptableQ Questionable – The Bal Seal material h as limited resistance to this chemical; useof the material depends on the conditions of the application.NRNot Recommended – The Bal Seal material is not compatible with this chemical; its use is not recommended.NANot Available – Chemical compatibility information is not available at this time. 3.0CHEMICAL COMPATIBILITY GUIDE FOR METALLIC MATERIALSIn addition to this chemical compatibility chart, report TR-60C, Bal Seal has two other reports: reportTR-60A “Chemical Compatibility Guide for Bal Seal PTFE, Filled PTFE, and Polyethylene SealMaterials,” and report TR-60B “Chemical Resistance to Typical [HPLC High Pressure LiquidChromatography] Solutions, Using Typical Bal Seal Products Used in Such Applications.” Consult theTechnical Sales Department for further details or materials not listed.Use or disclosure of data contained on this sheet is subject to the restrictions contained in the disclaimer located in the Table of Contents of this reportBal Seal Engineering Co, Inc.
