Carrying dataand power through a single Ethernet wirereduces the number of power receptaclesand power adapters while increasingreliability and wiring flexibility. The BrocadeICX 7250-24P provides 370 watts and candeliver PoE power to all 24 ports, while theBrocade ICX 7250-48P provides740 watts and can deliver PoE power forup to 12 or 24 ports. Both switches canprovide PoE and PoE (30 watts) power toall ports when an external power supply isdeployed.The optional Brocade ICX-EPS 4000is an external power supply source thatdelivers additional power for up to 16Brocade ICX 7250 Switches (see Figures3 and 4). It can be used for system powerredundancy and an increased PoE/PoE power budget to enable additional ports.EEE Power SavingsThe Brocade ICX 7250 Switch supportsthe IEEE 802.3az standard for EnergyEfficient Ethernet (EEE), reducing powerconsumption during periods of lowutilization.
