Summer 2017Registration InformationINSTRUCTIONS FOR ONLINE REGISTRATION1 Go to the LBCC home page: www.lbcc.eduTo drop a class:2 Click on Web Registration on the right sideof the LBCC home pageClick on: Enrollment: Drop Classes.Select the course you want to drop, then clickon: DROP SELECTED CLASSES3 Scroll down and click on:link.Enter your User ID and Password. Your UserID is a capital W followed by your 7-digit IDnumber. For example, 0005445. If you havesubmitted your application for admissionand do NOT have an ID, call (562) 938-4485.Confirm your selection, then click on:FINISH DROPPINGWAIT LISTING CLASSES4 Click on Campus Personal Information tocheck if there is a hold. If you have a hold,click on:and follow the instructions tohave it cleared. If there is no hold, continueto enrollment. Holds will prevent you fromenrolling.To get on a WAIT LIST for a classIf you want to wait list a class, you have twooptions.(1) Click the box next to Wait List when youselect your class, so you will be placed onthe wait list if the class is full.OR(2) If you receive an error message telling youthe class is full, click on the box next toWait List. Once you have done this, makesure you click on FINISH ENROLLING.5 Click on Enrollment then select Enrollment:Add Classes. Select SUMMER 2017semester then click on: Continue.You can search the schedule or enter thecourse number to add the class. Summer 2017Registration InformationWAIT LIST INFORMATIONYou cannot add to a wait list IF:WAIT LIST INFORMATION Enrollment appointment date/time has not yet beenreachedLBCC uses an auto-enroll from the wait list process.Auto-enroll will automatically enroll wait listed studentswhen a seat becomes available. The auto-enroll processwill occur on a nightly basis. You will not be notified ifyou are automatically enrolled. Check your scheduledaily to see if you are enrolled from the wait list. Prerequisites/co-requisites for the class are not met Maximum units to wait list have been reached: FALLand SPRING 12 units; SUMMER 8 units;NOTE: If you are automatically enrolled in a class, theremay be additional fees that must be paid by thepayment deadline. Summer 2017Registration InformationPREREQUISITES AND COREQUISITESSome courses require a prerequisite and/or a corequisite. A prerequisite is a course or assessment that must besatisfactorily completed before a higher level course may be taken. A corequisite is a course that must be taken in thesame term as another course, such as a science class with a concurrent lab.The system will block your priority registrationunless you have met the prerequisites.You can meet prerequisite requirements by:Qualification through the assessment test at LBCC and beplaced in that courseORCompletion of the prerequisite at LBCC with the finalgrade of Pass, “C,” or better ORCompletion of the prerequisite at another school with a“C” or better.Note: High school coursework must have a “B” or betterfor math courses.Challenging Course Requisites and LimitationsReasons for challenging requisites or limitations mustinclude one or more of the following:1. A requisite course is not reasonably available over aperiod of several semesters;2. You believe the requisite or limitation was established in violation of a regulation or District approvedprocess of establishing requisites and limitations;3. You believe the requisite or limitation isdiscriminatory or being applied in a discriminatorymanner; or4. Summer 2017Registration InformationFEES AND COSTSEnrollment FeesStudent Health FeeEnrollment fees are based on your residency status. Residencyrequirements are listed in the current college catalog or atwww.lbcc.edu. The final determination regarding residency statusis made by the LBCC Admissions Office.Some fees (enrollment and student health) are determined bythe State of California and are subject to change without notice.The required cost of attending LBCC includes these fees:enrollment, student health, and additional material and/or facilityuse (if applicable). To determine the cost of attendance, see thechart on page 12. Costs for books, supplies, housing, and othertangible materials are NOT included.A 17 health fee is mandatory and will be charged uponregistration, unless the student meets the exemption describedbelow: Any student who depends exclusively on prayer for healing inaccordance with the teachings of a bona fide religious sect,denomination, or organization. Documented evidence of suchan affiliation is required.Student Health ServicesThe Student Health Services Office is located on the Liberal ArtsCampus in Room A1010 and on the Pacific Coast Campus in GG117(as of January 2016). Each office is staffed by a registered nurse.All students under 18 years of age will need a signed parent/guardian permission form in order to be seen in the Student HealthServices department. Forms are available in the Student HealthCenters on both campuses.College Services Card FeeObtaining a College Services card is optional. For a fee of 13,first-time Summer 2017 students will obtain a college servicessticker which is used to obtain a Student ID card in the collegestudent center on either campus. In following semesters, studentspay 13 to the cashier to obtain a current college services stickerwhich is used to validate the student ID for the current term. Thestudent can receive their sticker paying online OR in person atCashier’s Office on either campus.Student Health Services include: tuberculosis testing, glucosetesting, cholesterol checks, physicals, immunizations, clinic referrals,prescriptions, pregnancy tests, vision screening, blood pressurechecks, first aid treatment, health counseling, over the countermedications for colds, flu and headache, health related programssuch as the annual LBCC Health Fair. Insurance coverage foraccidents occurring on campus or at off campus, college sponsoredevents ( 50 deductible). An additional nominal fee is charged forphysical examinations and immunizations.All students must have a current college services sticker touse the following services: Campus-to-Campus Shuttle bus, librarycheck-out, open-access computer labs, scholarship eligibility,discount tickets to theme parks, and other on-campus activities.For an appointment, call:LAC (562) 938-4210 PCC (562) 938-3992Students who choose not to use the services available mustcontact the Cashier’s Office and request a “Surrender of Benefits”;the 13 fee will be removed from the student’s account; however,students will be denied the services listed above.New Voluntary 2 Student Representation FeeA 2 Student Representation Fee (SRF) , made possible byAssembly Bill 1358, was voted and approved by the student bodyof Long Beach City College to use for local advocacy regardingCommunity College concerns. The fee provides for support ofstudent governmental affairs representatives to state positionsand viewpoints before city, county, and district governments andbefore offices and agencies of the State government. SRF TrustFund moneys shall be expended in accordance with proceduresestablished by the student body organization consistent with therequirements of EC §76063. This fee is only charged in the Falland Spring Terms.See the Cashier’s Office regarding lost or damaged cards. A 5 fee is charged for a replacement card.For students who register via the web, a college servicessticker will be mailed to the home address as listed in the contactinformation frame on your online “Student Center” page.To opt out, before paying your fees, log into your student accountand access your student center. Scroll to the ‘Finances’ sectionand click the link for “Student Rep Fee Opt-out.” Refunds willonly be allowed the first 2 weeks of the term.
