Transportation for All of UsThe local coordinating boards (LCB) operatingin Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas Countiesguide and coordinate transportation serviceswith the goal of improving quality of life forthose who are transportation disadvantaged,including the following: children of high risk the elderly those who have a physical ormental disabilities the economically disadvantagedIn addition, the Americans with Disabilities Act(ADA), passed in 1990, has greatly increasedtransportation options for people withdisabilities. The law called for lability of paratransit service.ADAdoes not require a transit agency to meetall of the transportation needs of individuals;however, the law does require that peoplewith disabilities receive the same masstransportation service opportunities everyoneelse receives.This brochure contains information aboutsome of the services offered under the ADAand through each county’s transportationdisadvantaged program, as well as otheroptions available to people who aretransportation disadvantaged throughout theregion.Pinellas CountyRides On Demand (cont’d)Agency for Health icaid/For Medicaid patients.
