Welcome!This is the 2014 edition of your Summary ofBenefits Handbook, which describes your benefitseffective January 1, 2014.The Handbook contains valuable informationabout the following benefit programs that theCompany offers to you and your eligibledependents. Health care plans (including prescription drug and mental health andsubstance abuse benefits), dental and vision coverage, the EmployeeAssistance Program, and the Wellness Program.“Company” DefinedThroughout this section, unlessotherwise stated, reference to“Company” or “PG&E” means PacificGas and Electric Company. For planssponsored by PG&E Corporation,reference to “Company” or “PG&E”means PG&E Corporation. The plansand benefits described in this sectionare also applicable to employees ofdesignated subsidiaries and affiliates,but only to the extent that such entitiesare participating employers with respectto the described plans or programs andsuch employees meet the eligibilityrequirements of the plans or programs. Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) that can help you pay for certainhealth care and dependent care expenses on a before-tax basis.PG&E offers two FSAs — the Health Care Flexible Spending Account and the Dependent Care FlexibleSpending Account. A Health Account will also be established for those enrolled in the Health Account Plan (HAP). Time off with pay such as vacation days, company-paid holidays, floating holidays, sick leave and leaves ofabsence, paid and unpaid. Disability benefits. Life and Accident Insurance plans, including Business Travel Insurance. Retirement benefits, including the Pacific Gas and Electric Company Retirement Plan, the Retirement SavingsPlan and Retiree Health Care coverage. Work/Life Benefits, such as Adoption Assistance, the Commuter Transit Program, the Tuition RefundProgram, discounts on gas and electric services for your home, as well as other Company-negotiateddiscounts.Who Is Eligible You are eligible to enroll in the benefits described in this Handbook if you are a full-time, part-time orprobationary union-represented employee. You are not eligible to participate in the benefits described in this Handbook if you are a temporary employeewho is not expected to become a regular employee, a Management, Administrative & Technical employee, acontract, agency, or hiring hall employee; or a retiree of the Company.Some benefits described in this Handbook, such as Retiree Health Care coverage, have additional criteria youmust meet to be eligible.Benefits Effective January 1, 2014For eligible union-represented employees1

When changes are made to these programs, PG&Ecommunicates those changes to employees. In many, but not all instances, changes are communicated throughSummaries of Material Modifications (SMMs) and other employee notices. SMMs are frequently part of the OpenEnrollment materials. You can also access this Handbook and SMMs online atwww.mypgebenefits.com and other reference documents on the PG&E@Work intranet site.Plan Documents GovernThe plan document for the plans described in this Handbook, the terms of this Summary of Benefits Handbookwhich pertain to the respective plans, and the documents which are Summaries of Material Modifications tothose plans govern the operation of the plans. If a conflict exists between these documents and any othercommunications or documents, these documents shall govern the operation of the plans. However, in the eventof any conflict between the terms of this Summary of Benefits Handbook and/or Summaries of MaterialModifications and the formal plan documents, the formal plan documents will control.The Employee Benefit Committee of PG&E Corporation is the Plan Administrator of these plans and has thediscretionary authority to interpret and construe the terms of the plan documents, to resolve any conflicts ordiscrepancies between documents and to establish rules which are necessary or desirable for the administrationof the plans.Xerox HR Services is the third-party administrator engaged by the Plan Administrator to fulfill certainrecordkeeping and administrative functions for the Retirement Plan.Plan Amendment and TerminationThe Company, acting through its authorized representatives, reserves the right to amend or terminate any or all ofthe plans described in this Handbook at any time and for any reason, or to suspend contributions to the plans, inwhole or in part, at any time, subject to any applicable collective bargaining agreements.Any change to the plans or the termination of any plans will not affect the benefits payable to plan members(also known as “participants”) before the date the plan was changed or ended, but such change may result inreduced levels of benefits or benefit coverage, or higher levels of employee contributions, after the effective dateof any such change.In the event that the Company terminates a plan for any reason without replacing it, you will be given notice.The plans may also be terminated by judicial action if the Company is bankrupt or insolvent, or upon completedissolution, merger, consolidation or reorganization without provision by a successor-company for continuation ofthe plans.Benefits Effective January 1, 2014For eligible union-represented employees17
