Britt is a North Dakota native who grewIR-4 Project, a cooperative program in the Unitedup in a farming family in the northeastern partStates of the state agricultural experimentalof the state. She is a graduate of Concordiastations, U.S. Department of Agriculture, growers/College in Moorhead, MN with a degree in political science andcommodity organizations, the crop protection industry and the UScommunication studies. Following graduation, Britt worked at theEnvironmental Protection Agency. The IR-4 Project is national inNorth Dakota Department of Agriculture as a policy analyst withscope and it conducts research at 21 field research farms and 5a broad portfolio of issues from transportation to conservation.analytical laboratories to facilitate the registration of conventionalShe also helped manage the department’s legislative actions.chemical pesticides and biopesticides on specialty crops andBritt manages NASDA’s rural development and financial securityspecialty uses. David has worked within the ASL Research &Development team for over 20 years and has beenintimately involved with the development of many of the processesused by ASL to transform marine plants into value-added productssuch as biostimulants. In recent years, his efforts have focused onleading a team dedicated to understanding the biochemicalcomposition of marine plants extracts and providing scientificguidance with regards to registration and regulatory affairs issues.David holds an MS degree in Plant Biochemistry from MountAllison University and lives with his family in Halifax, Nova Scotia.WWW.BPIA.ORG

Scott is highly knowledgeableMarketing and Regulatory Programs (MRP). Asof biological plant protection products and hasthe Under Secretary, Mr. Ibach carries out themission area’s broad task of facilitating domestic and internationalmarketing of U.S. agricultural products, and ensuring the healthand care of animals and plants. MRP agencies, which include theAgricultural Marketing Service and the Animal and Plant HealthInspection Service, are active participants in setting national andinternational standards. Before becoming Under Secretary, Mr.Ibach served as Nebraska’s Director of Agriculture. As Director,Mr. Ibach also had oversight of Nebraska’s plant and animal heathregulatory functions. He has been actively involved in foreign andsuccessfully introduced a number of biopesticideproducts. An active member of the Biological Products IndustryAlliance (BPIA), Peterson was recently named BPIA Volunteer ofthe Year, the first person honored for the position in the history ofthe organization. Scott Peterson joined Certis USA in Septemberof 2016 from SipcamRotam LLC (previously SipcamAdvan)of Durham, NC, where he served as National Sales ManagerAgriculture. Peterson holds a B.S. in Biology from BethelUniversity in St. Paul, MN.domestic marketing and development activities for the betterpart of his career. Mr. Ibach earned his Bachelor of Science inKate ShenkAgriculture from the University of Nebraska with majors in AnimalBiotechnology Innovation OrganizationScience and Agricultural Economics.Kate Shenk is the Manager of Regulatory Affairsin the Industrial and Environmental Section atthe Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO).Colleen KleinPrior to joining BIO, Kate worked at DC LegislativeNew York Corn and Soybean Growers& Regulatory Services where she focused on agriculture andAssociationColleen Klein has been the Executive Director for theNew York Corn and Soybean Growers Associationsince August of 2015. Colleen was raised on a dairyfarm in Wyoming County where she still lives today with her twodaughters Reilly and Harley. Out of high school she attendedSUNY Brockport to study Creative Writing and later to SUNYAlfred to study Ag Business & Technology Management. Priorto working for the association, she spent five years working forpesticide legislative and regulatory issues. Kate is an activemember of Women in Government Relations (WGR) and currentlyholds the position of President-Elect. She previously co-chairedthe WGR Energy, Environment and Agriculture Task Force. Kategraduated from Bard College in upstate New York with a Masterof Science in Environmental Policy where her thesis focused onthe Renewable Fuel Standard. Kate received her B.A. in PoliticalScience from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA.the USDA’s Farm Service Agency. She also worked for CornellCooperative Extension in Wyoming County. R.Simplot Company for 8 years where she worked on developingthe MicroMagic line, Simplot’s fruit and vegetable blends, andworked with McDonald’s French fry and hash brown production.Dr. Waxman earned a B.S. in biology, minor in chemistry, and anemphasis in microbiology and an M.S. in food science and dairyscience at Virginia Tech.
