BenefitsNew system will modernize, consolidate, andstreamline provider enrollment into Texas Medicaid Eliminates the need for multiple Texas ProviderIdentifiers (TPIs), allowing providers to interact with allTexas Medicaid records in a single, easy-to-use system. Will allow for Texas Medicaid enrollment in multiplestate health-care programs from a single application. Real-time data validation will reduce errors andexpedite the enrollment process.2

Offers real-time availability to changes made to providerinformation and offers instant access to the status ofprovider enrollment applications. PEMS will allow clients to locate providers faster with theexpanded Online Provider Lookup search functionality.3

PEMS Release Provider Enrollment on the Portal (PEP) and theProvider Information Management System (PIMS) willbe replaced with PEMS and will no longer be available. Paper applications for Texas Medicaid providerenrollment will be eliminated with the new onlinesystem. Providers should create TMHP accounts beforeenrollment transitions in December. Providers must have access to the internet to utilizePEMS and use up-to-date internet browsers foroptimum performance of the PEMS portal.4
