OverviewDeveloped by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), LEED provides building owners andoperators a concise framework for identifying and implementing practical and measurablegreen building design, construction, operations and maintenance solutions.For professionals participating in the design and construction phases of high-performance,healthful, durable, affordable, and environmentally sound commercial, institutional, andhigh-rise residential buildings, the LEED AP Building Design Construction (BD C) exam isdesigned to measure your knowledge and skill in understanding the LEED Rating Systemand ability to facilitate the project certification process. This course helps participantsunderstand and prepare for the LEED AP BD C exam. Additionally, the course will providean advance preview of LEED 2012 and explore as to how LEED compares to the Abu DhabiUrban Planning Council’s Estidama program.Course ObjectivesThis course will be an introduction to the concepts of sustainable, high performance greenbuildings, as well as methods for designing, constructing and evaluating them. The emphasiswill be on reviewing the fundamentals of the LEED 2009 for New Construction and MajorRenovations Rating System and the relevant LEED certification process as per LEED Version-3requirements.Accordingly, the course will provide key preparatory information about the needed toolsand technical expertise for taking both the LEED Green Associate exam (part 1) and theLEED AP BD C specialty exam (part 2). He has launched and developed sustainabilitydepartments in both the USA and the UAE. His project portfolioincludes commissions ranging from a multi-billion USD financial center development in theUAE to the training of over 1,000 professionals in multiple facets of sustainability and greeninvestments.
