The wards include 66 bedson the Joondalup Campus and 23 beds on theSouth West Campus that simulate the real worldhealthcare environment, and dedicated midwiferypractice areas. The technology and equipmentutilised at our South West Campus is the sameas that featured at our Joondalup Campus,ensuring that all ECU nursing and midwiferystudents have access to the same supportivelearning environment.I work full-time, so the convenience and flexibility of engaging with staff online is pricelessto me, and I don’t have to reduce my working hours. I cannot recommend the amazingatmosphere more highly enough. Students assist throughout thepregnancy all the way through to the first few weeksafter childbirth. The program offers invaluable learningopportunities outside of a ‘typical’ classroom setting,where students can develop both their clinical andinterpersonal skills.Our partnership programs offer nursing and midwiferystudents the opportunity to undertake the majority oftheir practical placements in one health service, allowingthem access to helpful resources, as well as networkingopportunities. These unique partnership programs areavailable at a range of healthcare facilities, includingSir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Osborne Park Hospital andNorth Metropolitan Mental Health Service.The staff at ECU are supportive and the university provides many workshops forassignments which include formatting and referencing.
