The focus of the course is on the physiologyof altered health states as a dynamic science that has applicationfor both well and ill populations of all age groups. The focus is on thephysiological responses to altered health states. This course contentis based on the health-illness continuum, including pathophysiologicalalteration, and system or organ failure. Considerations are given toselected pathological alterations and their effects on physiological andpsychological functions.
