Davis EndowedScholarship in support of current and future Highlandersby respectfully requesting a gift of 8 million, resulting inthe naming of the Sandra C. Davis and William C. DavisCollege of Business and Economics and the SandraC. Davis and William C. Davis Performance Hall in theDouglas and Beatrice Covington Center for Visual andPerforming Arts. Both of these actions will etch thelegendary names of Sandra C. Davis and William C. Davisin the history of Radford University, forever serving asa symbol of your enduring commitment to and limitlessWith a gift of 8 million, through a cash gift of 4million with the option to transfer stocks and payableover seven years, and an estate gift of 4 millionpayable through your estate per a survivorship policy asdetailed in will and/or estate plans, Radford Universitywill establish the Sandra C. Davis and William C. DavisEndowed Scholarship, generating an amount to bedetermined subject to percentage rates, estimatedat 320,000 annually once fully funded, to providescholarships for high-achieving students who studyin the Sandra C. Davis and William C. Davis College ofBusiness and Economics and the College of Visual andPerforming Arts. The estate gift will be irrevocable inorder to publicly announce the naming of the SandraC. Davis and William C. Davis College of Business andEconomics and the Sandra C. Davis and William C. DavisPerformance Hall in the Covington Center.1

DAVIS LEGACYTHE PROGRAMPROGRAMPURPOSERadford University is a great place tobe a scholar, to pursue personal andprofessional dreams — and RadfordUniversity believes that all students,especially those with great academicpromise, deserve access to highereducation. Unfortunately, attendingcollege is a financial burden formany students and their families andimpossible for some. By expandingmerit-based scholarships throughthe Sandra C. Davis and William C.Davis Endowed Scholarship Fund,Radford University can recruit, retainand graduate highly competitive,deserving students by assisting withthe costs of a high-quality educationin a university setting.2THE SANDRA C. DAVIS AND WILLIAM C. DAVIS LEGACYPROGRAM CONCEPTSubject to annual percentagerates, the annual income from theSandra C. Davis and William C.Davis Endowed Scholarship Fundwill provide academic scholarshipawards to Davis Scholars of 4,000per year or 2,000 per semester.The awards would be exclusivelyprovided to incoming freshmanand transfer students studyingin Radford University’s Sandra C.Davis and William C. Davis Collegeof Business and Economics and theCollege of Visual and PerformingArts. The scholarship awards shall beallocated between the two collegesutilizing the following calculation:two-thirds to the Sandra C. andWilliam C. Davis College of Businessand Economics and one-third to theCollege of Visual and PerformingArts. Scholarships shall be awardedconsistent with the calculation. DavisScholars must be enrolled full-timeat Radford University, be residents ofthe Commonwealth of Virginia andpossess a 3.5 high school GPA orcollege transfer GPA.Radford University students with a3.75 GPA or higher in their collegecoursework can be extended foradditional semesters. In the firstyear of implementation, a total offive Davis Scholars will be selectedto receive scholarship awards. Oncefully implemented, it is anticipatedthat there will be 80 Davis Scholarseach academic year.Awards will be renewable and canprovide scholarship funding for atotal of two full academic yearsor four semesters; therefore, thenumber of new scholarships availableeach year will be dependent uponthe number of scholarship renewalsin any given year. To be eligible fora renewal following the first two fullacademic years or four semesters,3
