Volume 3 Issue 8April/May 2011Dear PTA Members,As I write this note, I have only twelve more days as President of the Liberty PTA. It doesn’t reallyseem possible that this school year is almost over, but the calendar confirms that fact! The students,teachers, administrators, staff, and of course, the PTA have had a dynamic 2010-2011school year!There isn’t enough room to list our accomplishments in this newsletter, but I will be posting them onthe PTA web page so we can all look back and see how much we have achieved!In the near future, we will send out a survey so you may give us feedback on this past year’s events,fundraisers, programs, and more. Please take time to share your thoughts with us so that next year’sboard will have the benefit of hearing from many people. The last general PTA meeting of the year willbe held on May 18th at 7:00 PM. A portion of the meeting will be spent brainstorming about events andfundraisers past and future. Please come and support the PTA by participating in this meeting.Finally, I would like to thank EVERYONE who has worked with the PTA this year to support our manyendeavors. Upcoming PTA Events and NewsStaff Basketball GameThe Staff Basketball Game was amazing. Thegame was back and forth between the AtwaterAces and Thiessen Trotters. In the fourthquarter, the Thiessen Trotters were behind byjust a few points and with the clock windingdown, the Trotters came back to tie the gamejust as the buzzer ended the fourth quarter.The Aces and Trotters went into sudden deathovertime with the first to score taking home thetrophy. This year Libertyhad 63 students comprising six primarydivision teams and three division I teams thatwent into the regional tournament. One of ourDivision I teams even placed 3rd in itsDivision!Although it was a very successful year for thosestudents who were able to participate, weunfortunately had to turn away quite a fewstudents because we did not have enoughcoaches. We hope to go into next year’sOdyssey Of The Mind with more teams.
