26/07/2016Term 3 Week 1From the Principal Hi everyone, welcome back for another term after a very wet and windy midyear holiday. Term 3 should be another busy and exciting term of learningand fun.FOR YOUR DIARYOver the course of this term, students will participate in a trial of NAPLANonline, which will be assessing our capability to complete NAPLAN testsonline next year. They will also be undertaking the mandatory progressiveachievement tests (PAT) in both maths and reading. These will take placeover the last 4 weeks of the term. Results from these assessments will informteaching plans for next term and into next year.Week 1NAPLAN 2016 results are expected to be received during the course of thisterm. Copies will be sent home when they arrive.In week 3, Variety SA will officially handover the new school bus. However,the bus will start operating with adirect run to and from SmokyBay every Thursday effective this week. We are really pleasedto be able to support the young children from Smoky Bay by reducing theirtravel time on at least one day per week. Thanks to Sarah Evans for being ourThursday bus driver, and thanks to Grant Cotton for his support to get thelogistics sorted out.The Australian Ballet Company will be at Miltaburra this Thursday. Theywill put on a performance of the Sleeping Beauty in the gym after lunch(1.00pm) and community members are welcome to attend.A reminder that family and community members are always welcome to visitthe school and see the great work being done by our students.
