Youth are able tohave visits only during the timefor their unit. All visits happen inMacLaren’s Visitation Center.You have to schedule your visit inadvance (see page 2). Only two visitors may visit ayouth at a time. Visitors must be on the youth’sApproved Visitors List. Forvisitors under 18, their parent orguardian must be with them andsupervising them at all times. (Foryouth living in Noble: Onlyparents or guardians may visit.) We have vending machineswith snacks and drinksavailable. You may purchaseitems from these machines foryou and your youth to haveduring the visit. The machinesonly accept debit or credit cards.These youth are NOT ableto have visits: Youth in medical isolation due totesting positive for COVID-19.Youth living in Maple unit.Youth who have had closecontact with someone whotested positive for COVID-19 mayalso be restricted from havingvisits. To learn about your youth’ssituation, contact their casecoordinator.COVID-19 GuidelinesYouth and visitors must clear ahealth screening andtemperature check. If you aresick or have been in directcontact recently with someonewho had COVID-19, do not visit.Face coverings/masks arerequired for visitors at alltimes. Masks are not requiredfor youth.Youth and visitors may haveone brief hug at the beginningof the visit and one at the end.Please follow the guidelines onpage 3 for how to hug withoutspreading germs.Vaccine notrequiredCOVID vaccination is notrequired for youth or visitors.Youth and their visitors maysit together at a table without abarrier between them.Why do I still have to wear a mask?The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) still recommends facecoverings for correctional settings like MacLaren. OYAemployees are also still required to wear masks.1

MacLaren Visiting Schedule April 2022 You must schedule your visit before you come. To schedule, contact your youth’s case coordinator.Visits may only be scheduled one week in advance. At this time, we cannot allow visits outside of thetimes listed here.The deadline for scheduling Wednesday visits is 4 p.m. on the Tuesday before the visit. The deadlinefor scheduling Sunday visits is the 4 p.m. on the Friday before the visit.Priority for each visiting time is given to youth who have not had visits yet. How to Hug During VisitsYouth and their visitors may hug each other once at the beginning ofthe visit and once at the end.Please follow these guidelines, to keep everyone healthy.Both people must be wearing a mask.Wash your hands or use handsanitizer before and after the hug.Don’t let your faces touch. MacLaren Visiting Check-In Information Visitor check-in begins 10 minutes before yourscheduled visit time. While waiting outside,please stay at least six feet away from othervisitors and wear your mask or face covering. At the gatehouse, you will need to wash yourhands and answer questions about whether youhave symptoms of COVID-19. If any of thesethings are true, we cannot let you inside: Your medical provider has medicallymandated that you must stay home. You have any of these symptoms: cough,fever, muscle pain, shortness of breath, chills,sore throat, or a new loss of taste or smell. Your temperature is 100.4 or higher. We willcheck your temperature at the gatehouse. You will have to sign a waiver that says youunderstand the risks of COVID-19. You will have to clear a metal detector beforegoing inside. Any items you bring will go throughan x-ray machine. Please review our clothing rules (page 4) andmake sure your clothing is appropriate beforeyou arrive. Face coverings/masks are required at all times.This includes when you’re waiting in line to checkin, while you are checking in, and while you areinside the facility.You may only bring these items insideCurrent photo ID(required if you are 13 or older)Mask or face covering(required at all times)Automobile keyand remoteFeminine hygieneproducts (no more than 5)Medicine you need to stay alive,such as an inhaler (must be in originalcontainer or box with prescription label)Debit or credit card(to buy snacks or drinks fromthe vending machines)Visits for youth who are fathers and their kids These visits happen on Wednesday evenings,by appointment only, in the TimberlineBuilding. Visits last one hour.Only the child and one approved adult mayattend these visits (total of two visitors). Bothmust be on the youth’s Approved Visitors List.Face coverings are required for everyone age 2and older. All visitors, no matter what age, are required towash their hands before and after the visit. Only one youth and their family will be in thevisiting room at a time. No food or drinks are allowed, except formulafor infants.4
