Biographic ProfilesEditorsNeil Anderson is Professor of Work Psychology at Goldsmiths College,University of London. He is Founding Editor of the International Journal ofSelection and Assessment. His research interests include recruitment and selection,organizational and work group socialization, innovation at work, and organizational climate. He has co-authored and edited a number of books including theInternational Handbook of Selection and Assessment, and his work has appearedin several scholarly journals including Journal of Applied Psychology, HumanRelations, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Journal of Occupational andOrganizational Psychology, and the International Journal of Selection andAssessment. Neil has on-going research projects, either collaboratively or alone,into interviewer and applicant decision-making in assessment interviews, workgroup socialization of graduates, the structure and psychometric properties of popular ‘Big Five’ measures of personality, telephone-based interviewing procedures,and the practitioner–researcher divide in work and organizational psychology.Committed to an international perspective in work psychology, Neil has beenVisiting Professor to the University of Minnesota (USA) and the Free Universityof Amsterdam (The Netherlands). Neil is a fellow of the British PsychologicalSociety and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology.Deniz S. Ones is an international expert in personality and integrity testing forpersonnel selection and personality assessment for workplace applications. Shereceived her PhD from the University of Iowa in 1993 and was previously a faculty member of the University of Houston. Currently, she is the holder of theHellervik Endowed Professorship in Industrial and Organizational Psychology atthe Department of Psychology of the University of Minnesota. Dr Ones is theauthor of over 60 articles and over 200 international/national conference papersand published abstracts on topics ranging from the reliability of performance ratings to influences of social desirability on personality test validity to disciplineproblems at work. Her research has appeared in the Annual Review of Psychology,Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, and PsychologicalBulletin, among others. In 1994, Dr Ones received the Society of Industrial andOrganizational Psychology’s (Division 14 of the American Psychological Association) S. Rains Wallace Best Dissertation Award. In 1998, she received theErnest J. McCormick Early Career Contributions Award from the Society forIndustrial Organizational Psychology (Division 14 of the American PsychologicalAssociation), making her one of two people to ever receive both awards. Her

Dr Ones is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association(Divisions 5 and 14) and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychologyand serves on the editorial boards of Personnel Psychology, International Journalof Selection and Assessment, and European Journal of Work and OrganizationalPsychology. Recently, she has edited special issues for two prestigious journals(Human Performance on ability testing, and International Journal of SelectionAssessment on counterproductive work behaviors).Handan Kepir Sinangil is Professor of Work and Organizational Psychology atMarmara University, Organizational Behaviour Graduate Program, and AdjunctProfessor at Bogazici University. She is the General Secretary of EuropeanAssociation of Work and Organizational Psychology (EAWOP) and a memberof the American Psychological Association (APA), the Society for Industrialand Organizational Psychology (SIOP, APA Division 14), the InternationalAssociation of Applied Psychology (IAAP), and the International Association ofCross-Cultural Psychology (IACCP). Dr Sinangil’s international and national publications exceed 70 as book chapters and conference papers. She is also associateeditor of International Journal of Selection and Assessment (IJSA). Her ongoingresearch projects, either with international collaboration or alone include expatriate management, organizational culture and change, performance appraisal andselection. Additionally, her current teaching interests include assessment, trainingand development, and psychology of management.Chockalingam (Vish) Viswesvaran is an international expert in performancemeasurement, modeling performance determinants, personality and integrity testing, personnel selection and meta-analysis. He received his PhD from theUniversity of Iowa in 1993. Currently, he is an Associate Professor at theDepartment of Psychology of the Florida International University. Dr Viswesvaranis the author of over 70 articles and over 200 international/national conferencepapers and published abstracts. His research has appeared in the Journal ofApplied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, Journal of Vocational Behavior andEducational and Psychological Measurement, among others. In 1995,Viswesvaran received the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology’s(Division 14 of the American Psychological Association) S. Rains Wallace BestDissertation Award.
