St u d e n t S p e a k e r sXu Siqi MA，'20Xu Siqi (Shirley) graduates today with a NYU Shanghai - NYU Steinhardtjoint Master of Arts degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of OtherLanguages). She is a teacher at the British International School in Shanghaifocusing on Year 1 and Year 3 students. In 2019, Siqi served as one of two studentpanelists during the Symposium on Teacher Development in the InternationalSchool Setting, held at NYU Shanghai. For her final semester project, sheconducted research into effective strategies to support the development ofchildren's reading skills. Following her graduation, Siqi will continue in her role atthe British International School fulfilling her passion for teaching.Wu Kaiwen MS '20Wu Kaiwen (Karen) graduates today with a NYU Shanghai - NYU Stern jointMaster of Science degree in Data Analytics and Business Computing. While astudent, Kaiwen completed an internship with a film production company inShanghai focusing on web data gathering and analysis. For her final semestercapstone, she worked with the Shanghai office of a multinational bank on acustomer segmentation and relationship management project. Prior to hermaster's study, Kaiwen earned a bachelor's degree from NYU Shanghai, majoringin Interactive Media Arts and minoring in Humanities. Following her graduation,Kaiwen will join Deloitte Beying as a �国际学校教师发展论坛中 �� �将入职北京德勤从事咨询工作。6

L i g h ti n g t h ePearl T o w e rNYU SHANGHAI HAS PARTNERED with the Oriental Pearl Tower to lightup the iconic city landmark in NYU Shanghai's violet color in honor of theuniversity's graduating Class of 2020 on May 29th.Built in Pudong opposite the Bund in the 1990s, the Pearl Tower was China'stallest building until 2007 and has become one of its most recognizablelandmarks. Its illumination for NYU Shanghai's graduation echoes the traditionin New York to light the Empire State Building violet to honor NYU Studentsgraduating from the university's Washington Square 相呼应。9
