Student SpeakersJin Ye MA ’22Jin Ye (Jennie) graduates today with a Master of Arts degree in TESOL. Jenniecurrently teaches library courses at Shanghai World Foreign Language Academyto first and second graders. During her time in the TESOL program, Jennieresearched how technology influences student learning, especially the acquisitionof vocabulary, and its applications for the future, in a world where the pandemichas altered how we learn. Before joining the TESOL program, Jennie worked as ateaching assistant supporting ESL learners in public kindergarten and elementaryschools in New York City. After graduation, she plans to continue her work as anelementary school teacher either in China or New York.Yao Yao MS ’22Yao Yao graduates today with a NYU Shanghai – NYU Stern joint Master ofScience degree in Quantitative Finance. For his capstone, Yao worked with aglobal insurance firm on a comparative analysis of US and China investmentportfolio strategies. While a student, Yao served as a Program EngagementCoordinator, communicating with guest speakers from industry. He also was amentor to the undergraduate business club, a writer for the campus newspaper, OnCentury Avenue, and a go local orientation ambassador.
