RequirementsLanguageStudents should have at least B1 level for English orChinese Language Proficiency according to the CEFR(Common European Framework of Reference) as coursesat NTU are mainly taught in English or Chinese.InsuranceStudents must purchase their own insurance in the homecountry before travelling to Taiwan. They need to provideproof of insurance valid for the entire exchange period forthe following:- Accident insurance worth a minimum of TWD 1,000,000- Medical insurance worth a minimum of TWD 1,000,000If the student holds an Alien Resident Certificate (ARC)and has met the six-month minimum residency requirement,the student can choose to join the National Health Insurance(NHI) with limited coverage.VisaStudents are responsible for their own visa application beforeentering Taiwan.Students will be held responsible for the acquisition andmaintenance of proper visa for their exchange in Taiwan.Please contact nearby Taiwan diplomatic mission formore information.CourseCourse information (including courses taught in English)NTU Online Course Information System: nol.ntu.edu.twCourse enrollmentThe course list for the First/Second Semester is available only from the beginning of August/Januaryand the online course selection begins 2 to 3 weeks prior to the start of semester.Students should make a preliminary plan based on previous courses offered and adjust the plan whenthe latest course list is available. For questions regarding to a specific field/course, please contact therelevant department or the course instructor directly.Students are advised to arrive approximately one week before the start of classes to participate inorientation activities. Furthermore, the first two weeks of classes are crucial for students as this is thecourse add/drop period where students can make final changes to their course schedule.NTU Credit RequirementNTU requires exchange students to enroll in at least 2 courses or 4 credits per semester.Students should also satisfy the requirements of their home universities.Important NotesThe College of Medicine does not accept senior and graduate exchange students for they are notallowed to enroll in practice coursesThe Department of Medicine does not accept exchange or visiting students.The Department of Economics is under the College of Social Science at NTU. Courses related toeconomics can also be found in other departments (e.g. College of Management).GMBA required courses, EMBA and EIMBA courses are not open to exchange or visiting students.
