1972THE YEAR AT A GLANCEIt is expected that every college publish the President's Annua lReport. Generally, this report is a rather expensive production prepared for a li ited number of people who have contributed financiallyto the operation and expansion of the institution .Ce arville Collegehas what I believe to be a series of excitingachievements and goals worth reporting as an encouragement andchallenge to the readers of the College Bulletin. For this reason thisentire issue of the Bulletin has been given for the purpose of thereport. In this way everyone interested in the program of the Collegeca.n become acquainted w ith the progress being made and rejoicewith us .DR. JAMES T. JEREMIAHPRESIDENTWe anticipate that the following paragraphs will stimulate new andgreater interest in this Christian College. We sincerely desire theconcern of many who at this moment have not yet been challengedto ioin the ever increasing number of those who are prayerfully andfinancially supporting the College.This past year has witnessed a great number of spiritual victoriesexperienced in the lives of many of our young people . It appears tome that there is a greater interest in Christian service on the part ofour students than anytime during the past several years . A numberof our s udents have participated in the missionary Internship program. This yea r 22 students have served in nine different countries.Others are spending a great deal of time in practical Christian serviceopportun ities here in the homeland. Many of our young people havespent hours and travel led many miles to tell the good news of whatChrist, by H s death and resurrection , has done for all of us. Turner,Director of DevelopmentProbab J the greatest academic achievement of the year has been therecogn1t1on by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Scho?ls, a goal we have been striving to reach for many years.The cand1da1e status of the college in relationship to accreditation isa great step forward but certa!nly not an end in itself.Periodically it is inferred that regional accreditation is a step towarddoctrinal. a!1d spiritual compromise. It should be observed, however,that Chnst1an Colleges do not lose their distinctiveness because ofaccreditation but because Trustees, Administration, and Faculty fail tostand for "the faith once for all delivered unto the saints." TheBiblical position of the college is determined by the college and notby the accreditation association.It should be kept in mind that before we can reach the final accred itation stage, we must have nearly 50 % of our professors with theearned doctoral degree. One matter most vitally related to our friends"'!ho r ead this report is the absolute necessity of strengthening thef111anc1al picture of the college. We are confident that interestedchurches and friends through the next two years wi ll give sacrificiallyso that the financial structure will be in keeping with the requirements of North Central. Believe me, this is imperative, if your Collegeis to achieve the recognition you expect of it.We have been encouraged by reports from a number who have takenthis as part of their own personal concern. More of our churches areplacing the College on their budgets and some have increased theamount of the ir monthly contributions . We have reason to believemany others will do likewise.One of the encouraging activities of the year has been the "Walk-athon" conducted by the students. This has been a student bodyproject created by them and operated under their direction. Of course,the Trustees, Administration and Faculty have gb.1en their encouragement and cooperation. We are tha n kfu l to God for this student effortwhich has resulted in a total of some 40,000 for worthwhile projectsin relation to Cedarville College. The students voted to tithe thismoney and use it for the missionary internship program. They havecontributed heavily to student loan funds and made a sizable contribution to the new science building . It occurs to me that this studentinspired proiect will challenge parents, alumni, churches and businessorganizations to respond financially with new enthusiasm.We are excited and greatly encouraged by the progress made towardthe completion of the new science building. As I write this report,the building is under construction. We have been assured that withinthe year it wi ll be ready for use by the faculty and students . Thereis a sizab le amount of money yet to be raised in order to completelypay for this building. On another page in this report you wi ll find acurrent report of what has been given and a challenge for the goalwe must yet achieve. We are sure, however, that interested friendswil l continue their contributions toward the construction and financingof this new building so much needed for the academic program ofthe institution .Each year the financial structure of the College is audited by Lybrand,Ross Brothers and Montgomery. A summary of this report is availableupon request.Obv ously, we do not have room in these few pages to give youdetails of all that has happened on our campus or is in the planninastage or the future. The exterior walls are now completed and in a few weeksthe roof will be in place. The use of this lovely new addition isscheduled for the fall of 1973.There is still an opportunity for friends of the college whoare interested to participate in the financial support of this project.Approximately 109,000 remains to be raised for the completionof the Science Center. Please designate your gift for this specificfund.A plaque similar to the one in thecampus Library will be displayedin the foyer of the new ScienceCenter to show appreciation to donors who have contributed 1,000or more.

INVESTMENT CLUBSInvestment Clubs are made available to individuals, married couples, churches, and organizations for selection ofvarying degrees of participation. If the college is to reach itsobjective, every friend of Cedarville College is encouraged toparticipate in a manner consistent with ability.The following Shareholder categories are available todonors. Each Shareholder automatically qualifies for the newCedarville Associate program . The . Shareholder and Associate programs are for gifts received during the fiscal yearperiod, July 1-June 30.
