IIFOR THE WORD OF GOD AND THE TESTIMONY OF JESUS CHRIST"This newest of Cedarville College buildings, a dormitoryfor women, was erected last sumrner and occupied in September.It has fifty-two rooms, and now cares for 104 students. Next fallit may be necessary to house 150 girls in this building since newapplications .are being received at a rate of two-to-one over lastyear. Because our dormitories will be crowded next fall, it isurgent that we build the new recreation building announced in thisbulletin in order that our students may h:we some place to useleisure time outside a crowded dormitory room.

He says, 11 the small· unaccredited college is the luckiest college in the United States right now.You are lucky because you are broke andunaccredited; you are mosflikelyto live byyour wits and not be complacent, the waymost of higher education in America hasbeen and is . "Certainly too many ·of you have beenadmonished by high school counselors to besure the college you attend is accredited.This may seem like a strange concept. MayI say that it is not, for accreditation oftenleads to complacency and uniformity.I do not seek to imply that a collegeshould not seek after accreditation, and byGod I s help Cedarville will continue tostrive for it, but with our striving we mustnever lose sight of our individuality as adistinctively Christian institution, groundedupon the eternal truths of the Scriptures.Cedarville College is engaged in "Operation Bootstrap" and is making continuousprogress toward the goal of regional accreditation. This is not a one-man job;it takesthe concerted effort of all the trustees, faculty, staff and students to reach our goal.Certainly you as students can make a valuable contribution by continuing to pray forthe leaders of Cedarville Colle'ge, by encouraging individuals and your churches tocontribute regularly to the college, and last,but not least, by living up to your own capabilities as a student, accepting your responsibility of doing the best work possible inkeeping with your abilities.
