Special thanks to our Emcee for the evening,Staci StaticStaci Static has been a brightspot in St. Louis radio foralmost 15 years. Sinceentering the radio game, Stacihas always realized theimportance of being relatableto all of her listeners. ThetalentedAPD/MDAirPersonality was recognized asone of the elite Power 30 DJ’sin the country by The SourceMagazine.Static always knew she would somehow combine her love of peopleand music into a career. Staci joined a hip hop music show oncommunity radio station KDHX 88.1 and loved the ability to reachlisteners and be a part of the culture. Her stylish flair, quickconversation and knowledge of hip-hop music and culture led to thestart of her commercial radio career at KATZ/100.3 The Beat. Shewas hired on to co-host the morning show and as they say the rest ishistory.The savvy business woman and radio power broker manages to doit all. On a daily basis Staci handles APD/MD duties, the wildlypopular 9AM-2PM Mid-Day shift and manages the on-air staff. Shetreasures the time she spends with her two beautiful daughters;Asha and Kylie. Richard H. Amberg AwardRobert “Bob” Fulstone hasserved as a dedicated member ofthe Boys & Girls Clubs of GreaterSt. Louis Board of Directors forover 25 years. A military veteranwith a 45 plus year career in radioand television in St. Louis,Chicago, and New York, Bob is ahardworking individual with apassion for giving back to hiscommunity.Previously the Chief VolunteerOfficer (CVO) of the Board in 2000and 2001, Bob oversaw a capitalcampaign for the Club that securedthe first 1 million gift from Dennis& Judy Jones – the largest single gift in the Club’s 38-year history.While CVO, Bob recruited an active and diverse group of Boardvolunteers, many of which who assumed major leadership roles forBGCSTL. He has also been honored with the Wind Beneath MyWings Award in 1999, the Recognition of Service Award, NationalService to Youth Award, Local Service to Youth Award, the BoardChallenge Champion, and recognition for marketing excellence bythe Boys & Girls Clubs of America.Bob also chaired the Campaign for Kids annual fund drive and theResource Development Committee. During this time, the Club hadthe largest increase in funds raised and more 10,000 donors forthe Jeremiah Millbank Society than ever before. He now serves asthe Vice President of the Missouri State Alliance for the Boys & GirlsClubs of Missouri, and makes calls to fund such programs as MethSmart, SMART Girls, Passport to Manhood, and more. Bob alsogenerously dedicates his time to the Youth of the Year event inJefferson City, preparing youth to participate in the prestigiousprogram, the highest honor that a Club member can receive.Bob has also given his time and talents to many organizations in St.Louis, including Missouri Goodwill Industries, the Business Councilfor the United Nations, Junior Achievement of Mississippi Valley, theMissouri Historical Society, Business Resource Center, and more.He also received a Leadership Award in 2005 from Heat Up St.Louis, as well as an award for Outstanding Board Member from theJames S. McDonnell USO for securing funding for the new MobileUSO.

Capture the Vision AwardCharles R. Tallman III, hasbeen a tireless advocate foryouth in St. Louis, especiallyensuring that youth have theresources they need forhealthy,productiveandsuccessful futures.As one of the four foundingmembers of PHL, Inc. (a notfor-profitorganizationtorepair, replace, purchase,improve and build athletic facilities and equipment for public schooldistricts in St. Louis), Charlie has built and repaired 10 athletic fieldsin the City of St. Louis, including the Herbert Hoover Club footballfield in 2015. For this project, the Rams football team contactedCharlie about helping organize a project to renovate the field atHerbert Hoover and Charlie jumped on the project with both feet.Managing the project from the very beginning, Charlie worked withall the contractors; purchased a new scoreboard and 25-secondclocks; added bleachers, a press box, irrigation and fence repairsnot originally in the project scope; designed and managedinstallment of the artificial turf along the field’s sidelines; and madesure that six weeks of preparation work would be ready for the Ramsto lay sod and complete the renovation of the football field. Thislarge-scale project, along with Charlie’s hard work and tirelessdedication, was gifted free of charge to the Boys & Girls Club.In addition to his work with athletic facilities, Charlie has alsosecured equipment and uniforms for youth sports teams, along withshoes, clothing and more for local youth development and humanservices non-profits. Nothing PHL, Inc. has done would have beenpossible without Charlie working tirelessly for nothing more than thelove of his community and his desire to make it better.

Alumni Hall of HonorLorenzo Baylor, Sr.hasworkedforCitibank for the past 28years as a lefor various channelsthroughout the bank.Lorenzo has receivedseveral awards for hisoutstanding work. Heis also one of thefounders of the AfricanHeritage network at Citibank. Which helps mentor incomingemployees into the bank. Lorenzo is the director of the Willie G.Baylor Sr. Charitable Foundation. This foundation provides collegescholarships to high school students. The foundation also providesACT/SAT prep classes.Lorenzo is an active member at Faith Miracle Temple where is he anordained deacon, instructor, men ministry board member andfinancial counselor. Lorenzo attended Beaumont High School wherehe was a three sport lettermen in football, baseball and basketball.Upon graduation from Beaumont in 1980, Lorenzo went on to attendColumbia College in Columbia, MO. While in college Lorenzo playedbaseball for two years. He also became a member of the Omega PsiPhi Fraternity, Inc. While on campus Lorenzo was the president ofthe Minority Student Association and served on the student campusgovernment board. Lorenzo graduated from Columbia College inMay 1985 with BS degree in Business Administration.Lorenzo joined Herbert Hoover Boy’s Club as a young 7 year oldboy in 1968. His time at Herbert Hoover Boy’s Club taught him skillshe has carried throughout his life. Teamwork and leadership skillswere taught by some of the role models who poured into Lorenzo’slife like Clarence Pearson, Carl P. Woods and Henry Armstrong.Through Hebert Hoover Boy’s Club, Lorenzo was exposed to manythings that would not have been possible without these influences.As a kid from the inner city, he traveled to different cities whileplaying against different cultures. Lorenzo, to this day, always leteveryone know that Herbert Hoover Boy’s Club helped to shape thesuccessful person he has become. Lorenzo currently resides inFlorissant, MO with Sandra, his wife of thirty years.HHBC FOR LIFE.

Alumni Hall of HonorGraceConneristheyoungest of seven children,three brothers and threesisters. Her father is a bishop,and mother is a pastor in hercommunity. Grace attendedCentral City Lutheran Schooland Bridgeway Elementary.She also attended PattonvilleHeights Middle School.GracebecameaClubmember in 1998 when shewas a freshman at PattonvilleHigh School. She decided togo to the Club to volunteer tofulfill her community service requirements for graduation. From then,experiences and opportunities flourished. Grace was later offered ajob as a Junior Staff member at the Club. After graduation, Graceattended Southeast Missouri State University. That year she alsoreceived a Johnny Londoff Chevrolet scholarship through the Boys &Girls Club to help with college. She returned home and completedher studies (Cum Laude) at Harris Stowe State University andreturned to the Club as a staff member.After graduation, Grace began work as a teacher for Head Start,then Saint Louis Public Schools where she is currently employed.Grace has been teaching for six years. She is also the coordinatorfor the school’s after school program and is pursuing a Master’sDegree and Reading Specialist Certification. In addition, Grace is aseasonal staff member at the Club, working each summer for thepast four years. Grace is also a proud mother of one. Her sonAntonio is ten and has been a Club member since age 6. Graceenjoys being able to provide her son with opportunities andexperiences through his Club membership, just as she gainedmemorable experiences through the Club.My memories of the Club include: my first time leaving the statewithout my family, my first plane ride, my first conference, my firstjob, my first leadership role, my first CPR certification and my firstscholarship. The Club always provided the sense of individuality thatwas hard to come by as the youngest of 7. I gained lifelong skillsand friendships with the Club.

Alumni Hall of HonorJordan JohnsonAt the young age of 24, Jordan “Shorty da Prince” Johnson isdefinitely not a stranger to the Entertainment world. From music andradio to television, he has shown that he can hold his own. Born andraised in St. Louis, MO, Shorty started a career in radio when hewas only 12 years old with his own radio show Saturday morningsfrom 10AM to Noon. “I was only supposed to be on the air for amonth but I didn’t find that out until about 2 years into doing theshow,” said Shorty. When he turned 16, Clear Channel hired him asa full time night jock from 6 to 10PM on the city’s “100.3, The Beat”radio station. Shorty grew up on St. Louis radio going to public highschool during the day and being the city’s # 1 radio jock by night. In2010, Shorty landed a radio gig in Detroit, MI on “Hot 107.5”(Formerly “Hot 102.7”) and from there caught the attention of BET.BET reached out to Shorty to put together a tape because they werein search of new correspondents. “I just came into work about to domy shift and checked my email the subject said BET and basicallythey had been following me and wanted me to put together a videoand send it back to them,” Shorty explained. After about a year ofjust doing spot appearances on BET, from hosting the Grammy redcarpet to doing BET’s Notarized Countdown, he was selected asone of the hosts for their flagship show, “106 and Park”.

Alumni Hall of HonorSusan Jones is the manager ofSupplier Diversity at EMEDMedical Company. In her positionshe is in charge of developingnationwide relationships acrossthe minority business spectrum aswell as creating new businessopportunities for the company.Outside of work Susan takes onvarious roles. She is a dedicatedmother, artist, student, communityactivist, and President of the St.Louis Elected Board of Education.In her role as President Susantakes a grassroots approach tocreate positive results for the students and families in St. LouisPublic Schools. In 2015 Susan created the Sujo Makeup ArtistryScholarship. As a product of St. Louis Public Schools, local SchoolBoard Member, as well as a freelance makeup artist, she hasalways worked to give back to her community. As a makeup artistshe decided to come out with her own makeup brush line that helpsto benefit the students in her community. Sujo Makeup Artistrydonates 10% of every brush sold to the Sujo Makeup ArtistryScholarship. One scholarship is for prom and the other is for college.Funding of this scholarship goes to four deserving studentsdemonstrating excellence every single year out of St. Louis PublicSchools. She works diligently and serves as a strong advocate foreducation and social justice in her community. She offers herleadership in many capacities that range from participating incommunity meetings, mentoring, creating clean up days forneighborhoods, getting residents registered to vote, and feeding thehomeless. She is a true example of teamwork, faith, leadership,devotion and a community leader with a big heart!I loved going to Herbert Hoover! It was an experience I lookedforward to everyday getting after leaving school! My participation invarious programs such as the community music school (St. LouisSymphony partnership), swimming, and tutoring were all verymeaningful and helped me to do better academically, ultimatelycontributing to where I am today.

Alumni Hall of HonorByron Price has been in the financial services industry for over 23years and consumer and business sales for 30 years. He hasworked in banking, insurance and securities, mostly in individualsales or management capacities.Byron has had the privilege of working for US Bank since January2004. He started as a Credit Insurance Sales Manager for Missouriand Illinois and moved on to become the Payment ProtectionRelationship Sales Manager for 10 states.He then moved on to his current role, which is the Branch Managerof the 8th Street Branch in Downtown St. Louis. Byron has theunique privilege to manage this great branch, which is located in USBank’s corporate location for St. Louis, MO, and this great branch isthe Gateway Branch to the Midwest.In addition, Byron has been married to his lovely wife, Vera Price, for37 years. They are the proud parents of four great grown childrenand one grandson. Byron graduated with his BA from OttawaUniversity in Ottawa, Kansas, and he is a proud alumni andgraduate of Sumner High School, St. Louis, MO, class of 1975.Finally, Byron has participated in the following community and civicactivities: he served 16 years on the University City, MO CityCouncil; he is a current board member and active volunteer with themale mentoring program called St. Paul Saturdays; he is amember/trustee at St. Paul AME Church; and he is a businessvolunteer with the Grace Hill Women’s Business Center.

Alumni Hall of HonorJerome Tomlin’s passion ofmentoring to the young men oftoday stemmed from variousmentors,coaches,andcommunity leaders havingsuch a positive impact on hislife. Being an active memberof the Club provided him withmany fond memories. It wouldbe impossible to list them all.His experience as a lifelongmember helped to mold himinto the man he is today.He serves as a Virtual ts Pre-construction logistics planning through (BIM)Building Information Modeling and generating 3D animations.Previously, he worked in various roles where he mentored youthwithin the St. Louis area as a Youth Specialist for the State ofMissouri’s Division of Youth Services and as an After-SchoolCoordinator within the Riverview School District. Jerome is agraduate of the University of Arkansas where he obtained aProfessional Bachelor’s degree in Architecture. Throughout hisfree time he loves to spend quality time with his beautiful wife andfamily.We live in a world in which it is essential to share responsibility.It’s very easy to say it’s not my child, not my world, not myproblem, not my community. Then there are those who see theneed and respond.

BGCSTL’s “Formula For Impact” is a research-based theory of changethat calls for us to consistently provide the most powerful ClubExperience possible by implementing the Five Key Elements forPositive Youth Development, offering high-yield activities, providingtargeted programs, and encouraging regular attendance – all of whichwe know help youth achieve priority outcomes: Academic Success,Good Character & Citizenship, and Healthy Lifestyles.Programs in Character and Leadership Development empower youth tosupport and influence their Club and community, sustain meaningfulrelationships with others, develop a positive self-image, participate inthe democratic process and respect their own and others’ culturalidentities.Programs in Education and Career Development enable youth tobecome proficient in basic educational disciplines, apply learning toeveryday situations and embrace technology to achieve success in acareer.Programs in Health and Life Skills develop young people’s capacity toengage in positive behaviors that nurture their own well-being, setpersonal goals and live successfully as self-sufficient adults.Programs in The Arts enable youth to develop their creativity andcultural awareness through knowledge and appreciation of the visualarts, crafts, performing arts and creative writing.Programs in Sports, Fitness and Recreation develop fitness, positiveuse of leisure time, skills for stress management, appreciation for theenvironment and social skills.

For 50 years, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis has beenproviding after school, summer, teen and sports programs for youthages 6-18. Our mission is to inspire and enable youth to realize theirfull potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. Clubsare open during hours that kids are most likely to need a safe placeto go — after school and during summer.
