Overview of AwardsSERVICE EXCELLENCE AWARD –SERVICE EXCELLENCE AWARD –INDIVIDUALSTEAMPurpose:To recognize excellence in service and supportto students, faculty, staff and/or other serviceusers. Service excellence is demonstrated byconsistently delivering service that exemplifiesthe UWindsor Service Standards.A maximum of two awards will be givenannually.All essential criteria must be met in order tobe eligible for an award.Essential Criteria: Demonstrate the provision of the highest level ofservice to students and/or other service users Demonstrate high standards of professionalism Promote a work and service environment that isrespectful, collegial and supportiveOther Criteria: Demonstrate creativity and initiative inimproving service quality Exhibit a desire to improve service bycontinuously expanding their knowledgeand skills Serve as a role model in the provision ofexcellent servicesEligibility:Full- and part-time permanent employeeswith a minimum of five years of service.Purpose:To recognize excellence in service and supportto students, faculty, staff and/or other serviceusers. SERVICE EXCELLENCE AWARD –EXCELLENCE INFIRST 5 YEARS OF SERVICELEADERSHIP AWARDPurpose:Purpose:To recognize individuals new to the University forexcellence in service and support to students,faculty, staff and/or other service users. Serviceexcellence is demonstrated by consistentlydelivering service that exemplifies the UWindsorService Standards.To recognize excellence in leadership involvingpeople, events, programs, projects and/or teams.One award will be given annually. I M PACT AWA R D“U” MAKE A DIFFERENCE AWARDPurpose:Purpose:To recognize individuals or teams who havedeveloped, revised and/or implemented asystem, tool, process, initiative and/or programwithin their departments or across theUniversity that had a positive impact.To recognize employees who have had animpact on others.One award will be given annually. All essentialcriteria must be met in order to be eligible foran award.Essential Criteria: Have developed, revised and/or implemented asystem, tool, process, initiative and/or programthat has (must meet one (1) of the items listedbelow):- enhanced service delivery- created efficiencies- enhanced productivity- supported sustainability efforts- enhanced the work environmentor the student experience- decreased organizational risks- supported campus beautification effortsOne award will be given annually. All essentialcriteria must be met in order to be eligible foran award.Essential Criteria: Must meet one(1) of the following criteria:- has performed a special act of kindnessor service that has had a positive impacton others (students, colleagues)- has made a positive impact through oncampus “call to action” activities designedto address the needs of individuals,families and/or the community- has improved the morale ofothers through their actions Demonstrated sincere cooperation, positiveattitude and exceptional willingness to assistothers Their efforts and contributions are above andbeyond their regular job duties. Overview of the Nomination and Selection ProcessN O M I N AT I O N P R O C E S SSELECTION PROCESS The deadline for nominationsis November 18, 2016 All nominees will receive notification of theirnomination Eligible employees may be nominated byany member of the University community(students, faculty and staff).
