Challenges in Tajikistan In the last decade entrepreneurship for women hasdecreased and become a male-dominated activity Women empowerment in Tajikistan is even lower in ruralareas and certain regions such as Isfara and Istaravshan In the North and urgan Tube and Shahrituz in the South Gender relations are distorted and divorce rate amongstthe highers in the world the social costs are high as many families have no maleHousholds heads for years at a time Tajikistan is a country with conservative gender normsand high migration for young men in working age: in someprovinces more than 70% of the working age men migrated
