A LETTER TO THE TEXAS McCOMBS COMMUNITYThanks to the support of our extensive employer and alumni network, ourworld-class faculty, industry experts, and our talented career consultants,we had a strong performance in our employment outcomes for 2021. Atgraduation, 84% of our graduating Full-Time MBAs accepted an offer. Jobacceptances increased to 93% three months after graduation, which is a 7%increase from 2020. These outcomes are indicative of the community, tools,and resources our MBAs have in managing their career development.This report details the key insights we have realized this year and outlinesthe competitive advantage our Texas McCombs ecosystem provides to ouralumni and students year over year.Our ongoing efforts to continue to strengthen our employer ecosystemhelped our graduating Texas McCombs MBAs pursue full-time careeropportunities at 116 companies, and 99% of the MBA class of 2022 securedinternships at 125 companies across the United States.Creatively refining and expanding our curriculum and resources, ourcareer education & coaching team empowered our MBAs to take control ofdesigning their life and exploring diverse career paths. In the functions weclassify under marketing/sales specifically, students reported expandedinterest in many areas, including product management, product marketing,sales, research/consumer insights, buying/merchandising, and brandmanagement, among others.Texas’ economy continues to grow and remain diverse, spanning traditionaloil and gas to renewable energy, tech, healthcare, financial services, andmanufacturing. In last year’s recruitment cycle, our graduating Texas McCombsMBAs leaned into this growth specifically within Austin’s tech sector. Jobacceptances in technology increased by 8% in the last five years, with anincreased number of tech companies (20 ) hiring our MBAs nationally, fromSeattle to the San Francisco Bay Area.Resiliency and momentum in 2021 allowed the Austin economy, MBAstudents, and our community to bounce forward in a global pandemic.
