The Society for theScientific Study of Sexuality2020 SSSS Annual ConferenceNovember 19-22 Hyatt Regency New OrleansABSTRACT SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONSThank you for your interest in submitting an abstract for presentation at the2020 SSSS Annual Conference, November 19-22, in New Orleans.These Instructions will guide you through the online submission process.IMPORTANT: Incomplete submissions will not be reviewed orconsidered for the Conference.SUBSubmission deadline is Appril 10,, 2020.LOG-IN & SUBMISSION DETAILSThe person submitting the abstract will beidentified as the primary, and only, contact. WhenSSSS communicates with the primary contact,it is that person’s responsibility to inform anyco‑authors of any of such correspondence. SSSS members: Your SSSS website log‑ine-mail address and password will NOT workon this abstraction submission system. This isa totally separate system that requires you tohave a separate log-in. If you submitted an abstract in 2017, 2018, or2019, enter the e-mail address and passwordyou used then. If you do not remember yourpassword, you will be asked to create anew one. VERY IMPORTANT — If your e-mail addresshas changed since you last logged in, goahead and log in with your old e-mail, thenclick on the “UPDATE” button. Abstracts cannot be changed or updated after that date. If yoursubmission is accepted for the Conference, theinformation that is in your submission on that datewill appear in all Conference materials.DECISION NOTIFICATIONSWe will send your decision notification to thee-mail address in your account. If you do notreceive your decision notification by the end ofMay 2020: Check your e-mail spam folder. Password Confirm PasswordSUBMITTING YOUR ABSTRACTAs you proceed through the online submissionprocess, you will need the information below:TYPE OF PRESENTATION PROPOSED(You will choose one.) ORAL PRESENTATION — Your abstract islimited to 400 words. The person submittingthe abstract will be considered the primarycontact. The SSSS Scientific ProgramCo‑Chairs will group the oral presentationsby topic. Your presentation will be 15 minutes,including Q&A. Based on the peer review, youmay be offered an alternate presentation type. SYMPOSIUM — Your abstract is limitedto 1,500 words. A Symposium session isorganized by the presenters to facilitatecross‑institution and cross-disciplinecollaboration. Symposia are one hour,including Q&A. The person submitting theabstract will be considered the primarycontact. You’ll need to submit: the entire symposium proposal (as a singlesubmission), to include a brief descriptionof the overall symposium, plus all of theabstracts [including title(s), author(s),and description(s)] for each individualpresentation in your symposium. Do notsubmit abstracts for a symposium asindividual oral presentations. at least two observable and measurablelearning objectives at least five references to your abstracts CVs for all authors and co-authors a brief description of the form of trainingmethod that will be used in teaching theprogram content.Not all symposia submissions may beaccepted, and they will NOT be consideredfor an alternative presentation type. Thesymposia field is competitive, and symposiumsubmissions that facilitate cross-institution andcross-discipline collaboration are preferred.

Abstract Submission Instructions — 2020 SSSS Annual Conference — New Orleans CONTINUING EDUCATION SESSION /WORKSHOP — Your abstract is limitedto 400 words. The person submitting theabstract will be considered the primarycontact. CE presenters must have expertiseand competence in the areas in which theywill teach. Expertise can be demonstratedby a combination of relevant educationalexperience, teaching experience, clinicalexperience, and/or publications in the areasbeing taught. All proposals for CE sessionsare reviewed by the SSSS CE Committee. Youwill need to submit: the abstract at least two observable and measurablelearning objectives at least five references to your abstract CVs for all authors and co-authors a brief description of the training methodthat will be used.CE sessions are one hour, including Q&A. Notall submissions to the CE category may beaccepted. Based on the peer review, you maybe offered an alternate presentation type. BRIEF COMMUNICATION — Your abstractis limited to 400 words. The person submittingthe abstract will be considered the primarycontact. Brief Communication sessions areoral presentations, limited to five minutes andfive slides. The idea is to give attendees a briefsnapshot of a study, an idea, or a concept thatwill ignite discussion and dialogue throughoutthe Conference. Based on the peer review, youmay be offered an alternate presentation type. POSTER PRESENTATION — Your abstractis limited to 400 words. The person submittingthe abstract will be considered the primarycontact. A poster presentation allows thepresenter(s) to discuss their research in aninteractive way. A Poster session is 1 hour.Based on the peer review, you may be offeredalternate presentation type.page 3TITLE OF PRESENTATION OR SYMPOSIUMIMPORTANT: Capitalize the first letter of eachword in your title.CHOOSE ONE TOPIC FORYOUR PRESENTATIONFrom the drop-down menu, choose the topicthat best describes your abstract.
