Company Monthly NewsletterACCOUNTING CORNERCAT Scale AppJust a reminder, if you would like to start using the CAT Scale App so you spendless time at the scales and receive your scale tickets by email, please let me knowand I can set the app up for you! Plus, the scale fee is paid from your EFS fuelcard, so you don’t spend your own cash.Attention Independent Contractors / Owner Operators - We need a copy of yourMO Personal Property Tax receipt for 2017 to prove you paid taxes on yourtruck. If you live in another state, please let us know so we can mark you off thelist.-Lisa EakerTechnology can make life easier, but when implemented poorly can make life much harder. Thelogistics industry is an industry that is experiencing massive changes with regards to technology, most ofwhich you have probably already experienced with the implementation of PeopleNet. Over the last sixmonths we have been introducing more technology to make your work easier; that technology comes inthe form of LoadDocs.LoadDocs is a program that allows for your documents, reimbursements, scale tickets, etc. to besubmit electronically through your smart phone. It eliminates the need to fill out a trip envelope, whichin turn eliminates the need to spend time dropping off the envelope at the office. For leased contractors,it also eliminates the need to spend money on FedEx shipping charges. It allows payroll to process yourpay immediately after submission which helps ensure more accurate deposits. So how does it work? Theprocess is simple; you simply open the app, input the freight bill number assigned to the load youdelivered, select the type of document you’re uploading, and take the picture! The upload comes directlyto us in just a few seconds. Almost all smart phones are capable of running this app; and if you areinterested in getting set up give Nick a call and we can walk you through set up and get you on board.Lastly, I wanted to reinforce our ability to send digital pay statements to an email inbox. Many ofour drivers are receiving physical statements in the mail, and certainly there is nothing wrong with that. However, it does delay the receipt of important information. Typically, physical statements can’t bemailed until Friday, which means you won’t receive them in your mailbox until Monday, Tuesday, oreven Wednesday after payday in some cases. By providing us with an email address, we can make surethat company drivers receive their statements the Wednesday before payday, and leased contractors canreceive their statements the Thursday before payday. Having the ability to know your pay informationsooner can mean you can make better, timelier financial decisions. For company drivers. this does notaffect your PayCom statement, it is simply the statement of your load summary sheets that breaks downyour gross pay.If you have any questions about either of these programs, don’t hesitate to give me a call, email, ortext. I can be reached through any of these outlets and would be more than happy to get you set up, sowe can make your work life easier!--Josh Cooley5 Page
