This year, thanks to your commitment,generosity and support, nearly 2,500 children andadults received Kidpower training. This means we nowhave trained more than 46,000 people to take chargeof their safety since Kidpower started in Colorado 22years ago.Please consider sharing the Kidpower ProtectionPromise below with the kids and adults in your life:Kidpower skills are essential tools for everydayliving. About KidpowerworkshopsAll Kidpower workshops give children the opportunity to practice skills through carefully structuredactivities and role plays using realistic, nonthreatening scenarios. These include situations with peers andadults, both strangers and people they know. Each workshop also recognizes the primacy of parents andeducators as students’ most important and influential teachers.Children and teens learn: to recognize and avoid potential danger; to be safe with technology; to walk, stand and move with awareness andconfidence; to deal with bullies and peer pressure and toavoid bullying others; to deal with emotional coercion, intimidationand bribery; to use their voices and their bodies tostay safe; how and when to set clear, strong boundarieswith people they know and strangers; to tell an adult if they feel unsafe and topersist until they get the help they need. to tell an adult if someone talks about havinga weapon or threatens to harm anotherperson;The level of care and attentionthe instructors give to each childensures they not only have a greattime but they actually learn andunderstand.2015 Kidpower workshop attendee
