How to Access Databases and eBooks from Home1. Go to Westwood Home Page: www.mpsaz.org/westwood.2. Click on “Academics” at the top of the Home Page.3. Click on “Library/Media Center” button located in the middle of the page.4. Bookmark this page by clicking on the star icon. We will return to this page later on.5. Click on Digital Arizona Library.
6. Click on Online Reference Resources.7. To access any of the databases listed, you simply put in your zip code from your home mailingaddress. If you don’t know your own zip code, you may use 85201, the zip code forWestwood.8. Return to the Library Resource Center Home page by clicking on the page you bookmarkedearlier.9. Click on Mesa Library Resource Centers.

12. Here are the Mesa Public Schools Databases you can access. You might want to bookmarkthis page as well by clicking on the star icon at the top of your page.13. When accessing these databases, you will need a User Name and Password. You can accessthis information under “Login Information” while at school, but will not be able to access thisbutton at home, so be sure to note the user name and password for the databases you will beusing before you go home. Currently, the passwords are as follows:Remember when searching in databases, the terminology or phrasing you use is different thanthe way you speak. You may need to try several different phrases or key words before youfind accurate search results.If your search leads to too many results, you will need to narrow down your search using thetools I showed you today.
How to Access EBooks from the Library Catalog1. Follow same steps 1-9 as above2. Click on “Search Library Catalogs”3. Click on Westwood High School4. Click on Follett Shelf5. Scroll Down to eBooks and click on “See All”
6. From here you can sort the available eBooks in several different ways. Select the bookyou wish to read. Use your Active Directory User Name and Password to access theebook.7. You may also access ebooks from the regular catalog. Click on “Catalog”8. Put in your search term and narrow your search to eBooks
9. Select your choice by clicking on the Blue Title10. Click the “Open” Tab11. Log in using your Active Directory User Name and Password
Accessing Gale Platform ebook Reference Materials from home1. You can also access Gale’s eBook reference books from home.2. Follow steps 1-9 in the first section of this handout.3. Select GVRL icon4.The password for these eBook reference resources is: warrior (all lower case). Once youare logged in, you can access any of the reference materials in the platform.
