CONFERENCE NOTESThe Introduction of Presentation ThemesFor the first time ever, we are organizing presentations by themes to facilitateinterdisciplinary exposure and to encourage students to "think outside the box". Presentingparticipants of this conference were groups into sessions based on five general themes thatbest represent their work regardless of discipline or departmental affiliation. These generalthemes are (1) Health and Resilience, (2) Community and Global Issues, (3) Social Justice,Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, (4) Sustainability and Environmental Issues, and (5) Innovation,Communication, and Technology. Through this novel arrangement, we hope to organizeinterdisciplinary sessions that bring scholars from different fields together.Music, Dance, and Theatrical PerformancesThis year’s Music, Dance, and Theatrical performances will be taking place at Ballroom203 of the University Center. Attendees can expect musical performances in the genres of jazz, and chamber opera, as well as performances exploring the intersections between dance andfilm choreography, creativity and luxury. Students will present a portion of their work for up to 10minutes, followed by a 5-minute discussion of their creative process and a 5-minute Q&A.Oral PresentationsThe oral presentations this year have been organized by each submission’s theme. Therefore, each session of oral presentations would have diverse speakers from differentdepartments or disciplines. There are 4 sessions of oral presentations this year (each lasting 45minutes) – 5 rooms have been assigned to host the oral presentation sessions concurrently, with 3 presenters for each room per session. Each presenter will be given 10 minutes to presentalong with a 5-minute Q&A session at the end of their presentation.Computer Science and Game Development ExhibitionsWe are excited to have Computer Science and Game Development exhibitions this year.Held at Room 215, presenters at this exhibition will showcase their latest projects via livedemonstrations.
