Evaluations for Licensing Professional licensing is state regulated, so always checkwith your state licensing board to see the requirements forforeign education. About Us The New York City Welcome Back Center aims to helpinternationally trained healthcare professionals in the tristate area (New York, New Jersey and Connecticut) enterthe healthcare profession in New York State either in theiroriginal career or through alternative careers in healthcare. Our mission is to build a bridge between the need for moreculturally and linguistically diverse health professionals andthe untapped resource of immigrants trained in a field ofhealth in their country of origin who are living in the NYmetropolitan area.

Why have a NYC Welcome Back Center? New York City is one of the most diverse cities in the UnitedStates and the demand for culturally and linguisticallydiverse healthcare professionals is high. Internationally trained health professionals are a valuableresource who are often underemployed or unemployed. The New York State licensing process can be complicatedand difficult to understand. Internationally trained health professionals may want toexplore alternative careers in healthcare and may not knowwhere to start.
