AT&T Wireless Transfer Guide forUMKC EmployeesGETTING STARTED WITH THE SERVICE TRANSFER:1. For security reasons, please complete the below steps PRIOR to your scheduled event or at AT&T StoreContact AT&T @ 888-444-4410 between the hours of 7:00am and 7:00pm CST Mon-Fri Enter option # 2 Enter option # 5 Enter your 10 digit mobile number After you enter your 10 digit mobile number, you should be routed to a National Business Orderingspecialist. The specialist will verify the mobile number you are calling about. Let the representative know thatyou want to move your number from the UMKC account to a personal account. **Advise therepresentative that you want your new account attached to UMKC sponsorship FAN 99689**2. A credit check is required in order to transfer your mobile number and will be completed while you arethe phone with AT&T. If you already have an existing account with AT&T (mobility), please let therepresentative know. The following information is needed to for the credit check: Legal Name Current address Home phone number Social Security Number Date of Birth Driver’s License Number and State3. When the credit check is complete, you may need to put down a deposit. If a deposit is required, youcan either pay the deposit with a credit card or opt for the Pay-As-You-Go plan. If no deposit is required,you can proceed with the transfer.4. If you currently have features that you need to retain, such as International Dialing/Roaming, pleasenotify the representative before ending the call. There is a 90 day waiting period for any InternationalFeatures to be added to newly established AT&T personal accounts. If you need an International featureand the specialist in unable to assist you, please have the specialist engage a Fraud Service Manager. The Fraud Service Manager is authorized to add International features if the user has good credithistory. If there is good credit history, International Features can be added prior to the conclusion ofthe call. If the user is without good credit history or has no credit history at all, the Fraud Service Managerwill ask the user to wait 90 days and then reapply for the International feature. Reapplying for theInternational Feature can be done by calling AT&T Customer Service.International features can be added by contacting International Customer Care at 800-335-4685.MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS: PDA Personal Plans provide customers with access to their POP3 email through a third party providerlike AOL, Yahoo, etc., but do NOT provide access to corporate email. If you would like to establish recurring credit card payments, please advise the representative during theoriginal “transfer” call. Phone upgrades can be done after the service transfer, if desired by going into a local retail store in yourarea (www.att.com/find-a-store ). If you choose to upgrade your device, then you would be required tosign a new 12 or 24 month contract (24 month provides better equipment pricing).2
