Vinyl Liner PoolsVinyl LinersLathamSmart pool owners consider safety first,and take specific steps to ensurethat their family, friends and guests areknowledgeable about the safe andsensible use of their pool.There are several best practices that are essentialto safe pool operation: Ensure that the pool is kept in good repair and is notused when there is a missing or broken component. Anyone under the influence of alcohol, drugs orstimulants that would impair their abilities or judgmentshould not use the pool. Ensure that the pool is protected by appropriatebarriers to unsupervised entry, including fencing withself-latching gates, covers, alarms, etc.There are a number of items that are essential for poolsafety, all of which should be installed in accordancewith the manufacturer’s instructions as well as state andlocal statutes: Safety ropes should remain in place at all times. “No Diving” signs should be placed appropriatelyand in accordance with directions. Latham provides an area sign which must be permanentlyand conspicuously affixed in the pool area. You must have means of entry into and exit fromthe pool. You must have fencing with a self-latching gate thatprevents children and pets from reaching the poolunsupervised, in accordance with local regulations. You must have approved drain covers to protect againstsuction entrapment. You must have the minimum required inlets andreturns to ensure proper water circulation. Appropriate in-pool lighting should be used at night. Diving boards and slides require minimum depths anddistances and must be installed in strict compliancewith the manufacturer’s specifications. If your pool islabeled “Non-diving,” do not install diving equipment.12Several books and other items about pool safety areincluded with each Latham pool.
