In the motion, Mr. Jones documented his efforts to identify, locate, and serveDefendant Michael Taylor in this matter, which included sending certified mail to Mr. Taylor’smother and requesting that a mutual acquaintance give Mr. Jones’ telephone number to Mr.Taylor. Mr. Jones was advised that Mr. Taylor declined.1 Mr. Jones was last able to make contactwith Mr. Taylor in 2011. Despite his recent efforts, Mr. Jones was unable to locate Mr. Taylor.The Court concludes that, based on Mr. Jones’ motion, he has made a diligent effort tolocate and serve Mr. Taylor and has met the requirements to complete service by an alternativemethod. See D.C. SCR-Dom. Rel. Rule 4(c)(3)-(4), (f), and (g); D.C. Code Sections 13-336, 13338, 13-340; see generally Bearstop v. Bearstop, 377 A.2d 405, 408 (D.C. 1977) (Plaintiff mustexhaust all fruitful bases “for further inquiry by one truly bent on learning the presentwhereabouts of the defendant”).
