AT HOME WITH ORIby Gladys McCoyWe had a great time at the WestCoast Dowsing Conference in California. I taught in the basicdowsing school and did a talk on, “Clearing a Path to PositiveChanges in Your Life.” Both were live streamed and recordedfor sale. Contact the West Coast Dowsers for more informationat http://www.dowserswestcoast.org/.Then, we I played for two days in the Redwoods and ate atour favorite places in Santa Cruz, visiting with some wonderfulfriends and making new ones.We gave away lots ofinformation on Ozark Research Institute, and sold all of theFocused Mind Healing books and the Affirmation books wetook out there, and also some of the DVD’s. It was really agood trip. You should treat your self to a West Coast DowsingConference sometime. Our Power of Thought School is coming soon. The dates areAugust 24- 27, 2018. We have a great line up of teachers andwe hope you can make it. FROM THE EDITORby Lori Homstad, B.S. C.M.T.When I moved to Arkansas, I heard of analternative school of healing and I found myself quitemiraculously at this convention in my home town of SpringdaleAR. I went to my first ORI Dowsing Conference to discover afantastic tool that is a benefit for many health issues. It ispositive thought and dowsing. During my first class withGladys at the Power of Thought School, I found dowsing wasdifficult for me.Gladys told me I was getting in the way of myself. I neededto breathe deeply and relax. As a massage therapist, this mademe mad, to be told the very thing of which I was assistingothers. After quieting my mind and letting go of my ego, whichis no easy task, it finally worked and the rods moved wheneverI crossed the water line of the hotel.I still struggle with bouts of anxiety, and racing thoughts. Ican’t always get in for an Acupuncture RX but I do find tenminutes to get in a happy space to dowse, to talk to my innerdoctor. I dowse for what I need for perfect health. It works! And it seems I always have much better results when I getout of my own way Mark Your Calendars!O.R.I. Annual ConventionApril 20194

MAKING LIFELONG FRIENDSby Bonnie O’BoyleAt the ORI conventions, we see people who we have not seenin half a year since the last convention, and it is always a joyfulreunion. We sit beside each other all day and learn and grow, which creates a bond in itself, but I am not here to write aboutthat. I am here to share with you what happens after theclasses and the healing circles and the parties end. This iswhere the deepest friendships are forged, and where laughteris shared by all.Sunday night I was hanging out with friends in the hotelrestaurant that hosts our conventions. We were all amazed bya story told by one of our friends. The whole time she wastelling this story, Sammy was sitting there wearing the red andwhite wig that he had worn at the costume party. When Iasked why he hadn’t taken the wig off, he said something aboutlosing a bet to Vernell and having to wear it the whole wayhome. That night we spent a good bit of time talking aboutSammy’s cows. Sammy is a pretty clever guy, because he giveshis cows names that start with the same letter when they areborn in the same year, so he can keep up with each cowgeneration’s birth year by the first letter of their name. Hestarted in 2004 with the D’s, but apparently, they are all deadnow. In the year with E’s he had a cow that had twins, but thefirst twin died, so only the other twin cow named Extra lived.Even though the D’s are dead, Sammy does have some F’s andsome O’s and other letters in between left. I tried to guess hiscows’ names, but finally gave up. The only two names he toldme about (besides Extra) were Fredaline and Opal. We had alot of laughter about his cow’s names. He is a very creative guyto come up with such unique names! I texted Sammy after theconvention was over to tell him to be sure to tell Fredeline andOpal “Hi.” For me, but apparently, I offended Fredaline.Sammy left me a voice message that said, “O’Boyle, Bonnie.Don’t you got spell check on your phone? Fredaline is spelled5

with an A. She took offense. Pun intended.” That guy makesme laugh so hard! The whole time we were visiting, I was talking about writingthis article about what we were chatting about for the ORIjournal. Rose was making one of her wonderful drawings, but Ikept joking around as if she was taking notes for me to help mewith the article. Rose was cool. She played right along, as ifshe were my assistant. I heard she gave Sammy that coolpicture she was drawing while she pretended to take notes.Sarah was with us that first night, too. I don’t remember anyspecific stories she told this year, but last year she told me ahilarious story about all the interesting things you see when youlive by a popular river. I won’t go into details, but just so youknow, her kids aren’t supposed to pay any attention to what’shappening on that river! On Monday night, we had more laughter and camaraderie at the[hotel] restaurant. I ordered some mashed potatoes and they werebrought to me with bacon in them. I am a pescatarian, so I had toorder another dish, because they had ruined the potatoes with thebacon, as far as I was concerned. I offered the potatoes to Smilin’Dave, which, of course, led to Sammy picking on me for offeringthem to Dave instead of him. Dave put his hands over the bowl ofpotatoes and sent energy to them, then tried to give me thepotatoes back saying he changed the bacon to fish, so I could eatthem. I didn’t buy it, because it originally came from a pig.Vernell just sat there with her sweet smile and giggled at us. Youcould feel her love for us oozing out of her, as usual. There may have been others at the table that I have missed, andI apologize if I did. I just wanted to share these words to honorthe non-class experience at ORI. How often do we get to hang outwith so many like-minded people in one place? The classes andteachers give us so much at each convention, but the hiddentreasure at every convention is the people who show up year afteryear to hang out with our Spirit Family. I want to personallythank everyone who shows up at our conventions. Thanks for thehugs, and the laughter, and most of all, thanks for being amember of this wonderful, kooky family called ORI.6

HEALING THROUGH AWARENESS –WHERE TO BEGIN?by Diane TrumbleI have been a Natural HolisticNutritionist for over 12 years, and while I haveseen the wonderful results and believe in the amazing healingproperties of special, natural, holistic diets, I have learnedthere is a lot more that comes into play when trying to makesuccessful and permanent changes to health.I would like to suggest to you to consider starting your day bybroadening your focus and becoming more aware of what yourbody, mind and spirit together need to thrive to be healthy, and live a vibrant, joyous purposeful life.Consider for amoment that your awareness helps to determine your path andyour journey. Most of us know that initial resolutions made with goodintentions, consciously at the beginning of the year, often getlost as we let subconscious patterns take over. We begin tofocus on the outside world more, and familiar, repetitivepatterns appear without any effort on our part they are easyand have been with us for a lifetime and even though they maynot be to our benefit, we know them well and they don’t requireus to think or make an effort to make changes which takesup precious time.In order to find the answers to create and sustain vibrantgood health, it’s important to take the time to look ‘beyonddiets, nutritional models and daily fitness programs’ and focuson being mindful day-to-day and tune into what patterns what thoughts, feelings, emotions and intentions repeat whichcould be contributing to keeping you in the same place with thesame concerns and health issues. How you visualize theoutcome is equally important to the changes you make positive thought positive results. Remember while food8

provides energy and so does exercise, so do our thoughtsprovide, every second, a form of energy which can eithertransform us or undermine us.Where to begin?Make yourself the center ofyour attention.Start bydedicating 5 minutes of yourvery precious time each day tobeing in place of absolutestillness and peace. Allow fornothing or no one from the‘outside world’ to interrupt.Relax, breathe, close your eyesand quiet your mind just for 5minutes. Become aware of yourother senses smell the airaround you; listen to whatnoises fill the empty spaces; feelyour body and what it is tellingyou in the beginning and as it relaxes be aware of whatthoughts come into your mind acknowledge them and thenlet them go.Baby steps this is the beginning of the rest of your life.Diane Trumble is a passionate Registered Holistic Nutritionist,Certified GAPS Practitioner, Certified Eating Psychology Coachand Alternative Healthcare Practitioner trained in Reiki,Therapeutic Touch and Homeopathy. For the past 15years she hashelped clients find their own unique way to heal through making lifestylechanges and by following specialized dietary protocols such as GAPSand The Specific Carbohydrate Diet. In her business, Going BeyondNutrition she guides individuals on how to take the next step beyondbody/nutrition. by looking at ways on how to incorporate mind andspirit components that can address the true source of their health issues.Visit: GoingBeyondNutrition.comReprinted from: wareness-where-to-begin/9

AKASHIC FIELD THERAPYSM-ANINTEGRAL METHOD OR SOULCLEARINGby CJ MartesThe Akashic Field is the energy storagehologram for our soul as it acquires humanexperiences. Every thought, word, deed and action is recordedor imprinted on this energy field. The Akashic Field is verysimilar to an invisible super computer holding vast amounts ofinformation about YOU. This field is continuously written andrewritten every day. As a soul is trying to acquire variouslearning experiences, those situations and experiences areimprinted to it for access later by an individual’s subconscious. This is not a new concept throughout history. Many ancientcultures have reported the existence of the Akashic Records or“Book of Life”. Akasha is a Sanskrit word meaning "sky","space" or "aether". The Akashic Records are therefore said tobe a collection of wisdom that is stored in the aether. TheAkashic Records are said to have existed since the beginning ofthe planet. Just as we have various specialty libraries (e.g.,10

medical, law), there are said to exist various Akashic Records(e.g., human, animal, plant, mineral, etc). Most writings referto the Akashic Records in the area of human experience.Quantum scientists are now recognizing that the Akasha asrecorded by the ancients is really an energy field that connectsall living things.Akashic Field Therapy or AFT is an integral method of soulclearing that accesses specific information from an individual’sAkashic Field. AFT brings conscious awareness the patternsthat are blocking a person’s full expression of their authenticspiritual self. The practitioner identifies through the AFT process anynegative programs and patterns that are subconsciouslyaffecting an individual and blocking their growth. The area of our consciousness that directly accesses theAkashic Field is the subconscious mind. Through the powerfultechniques an AFT practitioner uses, the negative patterns arenot only identified but removed from the Akashic field. Thisprocess liberates a tremendous amount of energy that wasbeing used previously to store negative patterns.Storednegative patterns contribute to the accumulation of a person’sown “baggage” and over time create a “drag factor” making itdifficult to initiate new growth. When we look at our lives, we all have areas of our life thatwe find frustrating or that are not completely the way we’d likethem. In many cases we want to make a change but cannotfigure out why we repeat behaviors over and over again, evenwhen we consciously want them to stop.AFT addresses these real life issues by providing an effectivemethod of identifying a person’s negative patterns that arestored and then liberating them. Through this technique ofidentification, the real issues are brought out into the open so aperson can be consciously aware of what they have been11

carrying. By knowing what the issues really are and freeingthe energy stored in the Akashic Field, a person can then movemore easily into patterns of growth and change. Clearing theseidentified patterns through a directed energy technique andclearing request can help introduce a better quality of life forthe person receiving therapy. The Many Benefits of AFTAccessing information stored in the Akashic Field helps usbring our limiting programs and patterns to a greaterawareness in our life now.By accessing this storedinformation, we can release anything that we have created thathas become a block to our present growth into a unified selfrealization of our oneness with God/Spirit/Source.Working with AFT as a personal growth and developmenttool, we gain a greater understanding of our addictive patterns, why we choose the relationships we do, what our habitualresponses are and reveals the learning experiences or thereasons why we have chosen and created certain lifeexperiences. This greater self awareness effectively promotesgreater initiation of self growth and positive action in our lives.Through the course of working with this technique - clientshave reported the following benefits: increased level of consciousness increased awareness of self, by bringing to awareness subconscious patterns that hold you back increased and clearer spiritual energy by releasing negativepatterns elimination of the “drag factor” (those experiences andtraumas that “hold you back” or keep you stuck in one placein your growth opportunity) allow greater opportunities for growth and personaltransformation better ability to cope with life situations by having a clearer12

insight about what is happening better, more positive perception of self, others and lifesituations better quality of life with less fear of situational outcomes decreased anxiety, depression and hopelessness about lifedue to a lack of self-awareness overall increase in happiness, feelings of well-being reflectedon those around you increased sense of oneness with the collective or globalcommunity increased sense of responsibility to assist in creating a betterworldHealing the energy of the Akashic Field allows us the freedomto choose Grace in all things; therefore, overriding any illusionwe have created that causes us to believe we are separate fromGod/Spirit/Source.A powerful spiritual teacher, medical intuitive, life coach andinnovative thinker, CJ Martes is known internationally for herability to help people achieve more and get greater joy in theirlife. As the founder of Akashic Field Therapy (AFT), sheunites penetrating scientific insight and ancient knowledge tohelp individuals resolve traumas. 5 THINGS YOUR CELLS KNOW ABOUTTHRIVING PHYSICALLY ANDSPIRITUALLYby Sondra Barrett, PhDWhen we tend to think about our cells, if we think aboutthem at all, we may see them as invisible hidden parts of us.Yet consider that the trillions of cells that make up your body, that are you, in fact, at the physical level, know a lot aboutsurvival.I have been studying human cells for decades, as a medicalscientist, cancer researcher and teaching about the bridgebetween science and spirit, with our cells as the guide. Mybook Secrets of Your Cells: Discovering Your Body's InnerIntelligence (Sounds True) expands on these ideas. My journeythrough a life-threatening illness, severe back pain, a strokeand liver cancer scare added to my experience in making theinformation real and practical. So I invite you to explore, andeven experience, a few secrets your cells know about healing.Create SanctuaryIn the beginning of life, molecules had to come together tocreate a place in which life could begin. Without moleculesmerging, there would be no life. Same, too, for us. Our cellscome together, merge to create each of us.And we, asphysically realized humans typically come together and createcommunities - families, friends, churches, temples. Each canbe a sanctuary, a safe place that holds a bit of the sacredness ofour lives.Take some time to consider how you createsanctuary, for belonging and sharing the highs and lows, thegifts of life. What your molecules do, to nurture that sacredspark of life, we also do. Know that you are a sanctuary oftrillions of cells. Create an altar or place in your heart as areminder.14

Build CommunityNo cell survives alone. In the developing brain, neurons thatfail to connect with other neurons die. In the Petri dish, asingle cell living alone will program itself to die. We know fromscientific research that people who lack social connections failto thrive and even die younger than their more socially activeneighbors.People with few connections get colds morefrequently. When 2 or more are gathered together, our cellsand we thrive.Recognize the important connections in your life. What is themost meaningful community to which you belong? Name twofriends you can call upon when you are feeling lonely. Shareyourself today; invite someone for a walk or dinner. Who doyou need to let know you love them?Recycle EnergyEvery day your cells use about 3 pounds of molecular energy.Where does all that come from? Cells have developed ways torecycle their spent energy provided they have a bit of food, nutrients, and oxygen and that you are not all stressed out.You can help them by cultivating practices that allow you torelax and breathe deeply. When you are tense and stressed, your cells become very inefficient in producing energy, they willmake ten times less energy than cells that are more at ease. Each time you take a brisk walk or sit and meditate, pray, yousupport your cells in regenerating their energy stores byreleasing tension and breathing in delicious oxygen. When energy is depleted, cells can’t repair themselves, protect you from danger, or support a healthy attitude.Breathe deeply and your cells will reward you. Breathe innature and all will be rewarded.Remember GratitudeOur cells learn together and create tracks of informationbetween many regions of your brain and body. The senses help15

them anchor and strengthen an experience, be it positive ornegative. The more times we remember a positive experience, like gratitude, the more cells are encoding the memory.Recall a time you felt deeply grateful; remember the smells, sights, touch, sounds, and maybe even taste associated withthat experience. Every time you embody gratitude with yoursenses, even if it seems like its ‘only’ in your mind, you’rehelping your cells remember. They create an ever-ready stateof gratitude for you to hold sacred. Use your senses to helpyour cells and you learn new habits.Speak the TruthOur cells can respond only to what you think is the truth. When you pretend to be truthful and know that you are holdingback the real truth, your cells respond with stress. They knowyou are holding back or thinking a lie. While training people who conducted lie detector tests aboutthe physiology, University of Texas professor JamesPennebaker was asked why a criminal responded withrelaxation after confessing to the crime. Going back to hiscollege students, he wanted to find out. So he had two groupsone which wrote about what they did that day while the othergroup wrote their thoughts and feelings about something they’dnever told someone, a secret, a lie, a shame. Each group didthis exercise for 15 minutes for 4 days. Those who hadconfessed in writing, in the long run, had fewer healthproblems and less stress. No one else had to even see what heor she wrote for the benefits. The simple act of disclosing thestory helped them let go of the stressful hiding. Pennebaker’sinterpretation: with confession we are letting go of the held-insecret; the hiding the lie or secret is stressful. Our cells knowthe truth and hold you to it.Taking this simple strategy to people with chronic diseasesasthma or rheumatoid arthritis, those who wrote about what16

was secretly the most stressful to them improved their lungfunction or lessened their joint pain. These health benefits forthis 4 day exercise (total time about 1 hour) lasted 6 months. We are blessed with these trillions ofwisdom keepers who keep us alive and themore we learn from them, the more we mayfall in love with our self and be grateful forthe gifts of life.To explore more, a 6-session online courseSecrets of Your Cells is available at my CellWisdom School and you can connect withme on my website or Facebook page.Sondra Barrett, PhD biochemist, author, photographer and educator who combinesscience and spirituality to aid us in beinghealthy mentally, physically andspiritually. THOUGHT FORMSby Marge HeftyWhen I am dowsing, I concentrate on a picturein my mind’s eye of what I am looking for (a pair ofcar keys or an underground stream of potable water,etc.). So, where is your “mental screen” or mind’seye? Just close you eyes, and recall someone in your family, or a friend. You are using your mental screen. Mine seems to be just above my noseand in front of my eyes. Others have said theirs is just inside theirforehead. When we picture an idea or dream, this is called a “thought form”. Weall do this whether we realize it or not — like building something withour hands, or gardening. Planning a meal or our day’s work are otherexamples. It has been calculated that each one of us have over 60,000 thoughtsper day. And it only takes one-seventh of a second for a thought we haveto travel around the world and back to us — WOW!! During that shortspace of time, look at all it passes thru: billion and billions of otherthought forms. If we are lucky, there are a lot of loving thoughts outthere, but the opposite is truer.Examine you own thoughts — to “test the waters” — and you will findthat the voice in your head is talking about negative things more thanputting out loving vibrations. No wonder, when we worry about an eventthat may or many not happen, that our fears keep multiplying until wehave a full-blown panic attack. The thoughts keep picking up morenegativity and our imagination takes over and runs wild. It is anundeniable fact that a person who sits home and fears being robbed dayafter day will draw a burglar walking down the street to their door. So,we need to learn to sing and dance
