INTRODUCTIONLOJIC Architecture Upgrade project began in Fall of 2018.This project involved changing every part of our existing system while maintaining the currentproduction environment for continued use.As part of this project we have already:Migrated from Citrix to Horizon Virtual NetworkUpdated from ArcGIS Desktop 10.2.1 to 10.6.1Updated from ArcGIS Server 10.2.1 to 10.6.1Stood up the new ArcGIS Enterprise Environment first at version10.6.1 but then upgraded to version 10.8.1.While still:Maintaining the production custom desktop and web applicationsand services.Keeping the Enterprise database (lojicora1) updated andperformant. (Includes 2 base mapping/Lidar/Imagery updates)Managing (adding and removing) Users on the systemWe did this working virtually for 2 years.

THE FINAL STAGE – MIGRATING TO THENEW 10.6.1 ENTERPRISE DATABASESSplitting 1 main database (lojicora1) into 3 main databases and changing ALL data relatedworkflowsgisprep(10.6.1)CutoverMay 17 through 22 All Desktop Usersgispub(10.6.1)gistrap(10.6.1) Web appsand services Versioned Data editors(Parcels, Streets, Addresses,Sewers, Planning layers)

DURING THE CUTOVER Can use data and services. Can use LOJICTools during that time. Addresses, streets, parcels and all otherdata will not be updated. New users will not be added starting May9 until after May 23. Applications/services will not be modified.

AFTER CUTOVER – BASE MAP CHANGES New Vector tile format for Street Maps,Plan Hydro, Topo New LOJIC Dark Canvas street map Cached LOJIC Light Gray and LOJIC Basicwill be deprecated and will eventually beremoved.Demo

AFTER CUTOVER – FEATURE LAYER CHANGESDemo addingLOJICLayer in ArcGISOnline Replace services accessing lojicora1 withservices accessing 10.6.1 web database. Open data portal services accessing 10.6.1web database will be updated daily/asneeded.o Streets, Addresses, Parcels – dailyo Other feature classes the next dailyafter updates published.

AFTER CUTOVER – ARCMAP & ARCGIS PRO USERS The 10.2.1 database (lojicora1) will nolonger be updated. It will only be available for a few weeks. All users will receive new databasepasswords probably via Web Cargo.KeePass is a free, opensource passwordmanagement software.https://keepass.info/Recommend using password manager software.Metro: KeePassMSD, LWC: Secret Server

AFTER CUTOVER – ARCMAP & ARCGIS PRO USERS ALL MXDS AND PROJECTS WILL NEEDTO BE UPDATED.Demo – DataRemapperDemo – LOJICUser Portal linkfrom Horizono Data Remapper Tool – Updates allMXDs in a directory. Only usable whenlojicora1 is available.o Repairing MXDs and Projects one at atime.Instructions available in the LOJIC User Portal.

AFTER CUTOVER – VERSIONED DATA EDITORSVersioned editorsmust post theirfinal updates tolojicora1 by 4 PMon Monday, May16 and delete theirprivate versions. Versioned data is data edited directly in theoracle database. This is limited only to a fewpeople. MXDs used to edit versioned data will needto be updated to edit data in the gistrapdatabase. Viewing or background featureclasses will be accessing gisprep. LOJIC Custom editing apps are alreadyconverted.

MXD CLEANUP FOR ARCMAP USERSDesktop users should start nowdeleting obsolete MXDs.Review MXDs in your H: drive anddelete obsolete MXDs.Review MXDs in your shared directoriesin the J: drive especially subdirectoriesof former users.
